This is not my normal subject that I talk about but I felt the need to talk about it. Now this is a little add on to what ntalia31 (you should follow her). Before you read any further you should probably go check her story out and come back to my story. She talked about the recent school shooting that happened on February 14 in Florida. She talked about how she felt on that topic and I completely agree with her.
So my family and I are from Iraq and if you know anything about Iraq or even Syria, you know that there is a b u n c h of wars that go on there. My family and I escaped from Iraq because of the war and came to America because of peace. We thought that coming to America we would feel peace and tranquility. I mean don't get me wrong it's way better than Iraq and Syria but it's getting worse. Now whenever I go to a public and crowded place, my guard is up and I am on full alert.
I remember the last 4th of July it's a tradition for my family and I to go to an open area with a little amusement park, of course I was scared because it is a free and open space, absolutely no security to check for any weapons, and it was a crowded area. I was scared because at any moment some crazy person comes barging in and starts shooting and attacking. I have n e v e r e v e r had this happen to me, I have never gone to a place and been so scared in my life. This is just sad.In ntalia31's story she talks about some people who nowadays don't even care about this anymore because it has become the norm for everyone. And I am sadly one of those people who sees it on the news and was just like "oh that's really sad." That's literally all I said, which I feel so guilty about because I can't even imagine what is going through their head right now and I can't imagine how they could be feeling right now.
I just wanted to make this story because this is what our lives are like now, and we really n e e d, really need to do something to stop this. It is not okay, innocent lives are being lost because killing people makes them feel better. It really isn't okay, and we need to end it now. Thanks for listening in.
