Hanging By A Moment
Forgetting all that I am lacking, completey incomplete
I'll take your ivitation, you take all of me now
I'm falling even more in love with you
Letting of all that I've held on to
I'm standing here until you make me move
I'm hanging by a moment here with you
I'm living for the only thing I know'
I'm running and not quite suer where to go
And I don't know what I'm diving into
Just hanging by a moment here with you
There's nothing else to lose, there's nothing else to find
There's nothing in the world that can cahnge my mind
HANGING BY A MOMENT ~ LIFEHOUSE
He stared at her, dumbfounded at her words; had she really just said that? Or was it just his mind wishing to hear the words? He shook his head quickly, trying to think around the slight buzz of the drinks he had had. “What?” He finally managed to utter, his mind kicking him for stuttering such a stupid question.
It wasn't hard to see the anger that flashed through her eyes, or the fear. “I know you don't feel the same,” she muttered, shame lacing her voice, “And I know-”
Her words were drowned out when he pressed his mouth to hers. He knew it was a stupid thing to do, the wrong thing to do, but with the excuse of too much to drink he was willing to risk it. Just to be with her, even if it was only for that one kiss. She surprised him by kissing him back, although maybe he shouldn't have been all that surprised after what she had said to him. His fingers slid their way into her hair, letting it entrap them there.
He pulled away slowly, trying to get his brain to truly comprehend what he was doing – what they were both doing. Maybe he should stop this, not let it go any further, not until he had had time to think. To truly understand what she had said to him. His hands slid down to gently cup her face, his thumbs running up and down her cheek bones. “I love you too.” As the truthful words tumbled out of his mouth, he wished he could suck them back in. He hadn't meant to tell her that, not yet anyway.
The fear bloomed through her eyes again, but there was something else underneath it that he couldn't pin-point; something he was sure was the cause of her fear. She opened her mouth to speak but no sound came out so she closed it. When she again tried to speak but failed, he found he didn't care what she had to say – he just cared about her. So he used it as an excuse to grab hold of her mouth again.
He was again surprised that she reciprocated, this time deepening the kiss to a point that completely threw out any rational thought he might have had. His hands slid from her face, slowly moving them over her finely built body, the tips of his fingers hungrily searching for skin, an urgent feeling in the pit of his stomach that he needed to touch every part of her.
He heard the quiet sigh that rose into her throat as his searching fingers finally found the hem of her loose t-shirt. The sigh was all the permission he needed to let his hands slip under the thin fabric. A low groan escaped his throat as her own hands slipped down his chest and over his stomach only to slide back up under his shirt.
When his fingers grazed over the smooth material that covered her breast, she removed her hands from him, at first alarming him that maybe he had pushed too far – that alarm heightening as she slowly pushed his hands down. She broke away from the kiss, gripped the hem of her shirt and quickly pulled it over her head, tossing it to the floor. The look in her eyes showed she expected him to do the same, so he slipped the shirt over his head, throwing it across the room.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him again, running her tongue over his bottom lip, asking to deepen the kiss again. Which he gladly obliged. The feeling of her skin pressed against his was enough to almost push him over the edge, a slow ache beginning to spread through is groin.
Her hands once again wandered down his chest, her fingers catching is his belt loops before taking a tentative step back, pulling him with her. He didn't break his lips away from hers as she slowly sank down onto the bed, just followed along with her movements, trying to ignore the part of his brain that said this wasn't a smart idea, and that he should stop and wait – that he was just taking advantage of her, and neither of them were thinking clearly.
Somewhere in a distant part of his mind he knew that she was probably thinking the same thing; that this needed to stop. He had had a little too much to drink and she was upset, clinging to him because he was there. And still he couldn't make himself stop, couldn't make himself leave her mind numbing kiss, or stop the way her soft skin made him feel things he'd never felt before.
Yes, he'd been with other girls, some of them had been girlfriends and others just one nightstands. But none of them had ever made him feel the way she could. No one had ever made him feel so much he thought it might overload his brain. And his body.
As he held himself over her, he began to move his mouth to places other than her mouth, his teeth nipping lightly as his lips wandered over her neck, causing small growls and moans to slip free from her mouth. He continued to kiss down her neck, letting his tongue trace over her skin here and there as he worked his way down her collar bone, slowly dropping light kisses along the line of the rim that kept her breasts hidden.
His mouth continued to move down to her stomach, his tongue lightly tracing across her lean muscles. The low moan that left her lips was quickly followed by one of his own, and another. Being able to touch and kiss her freely was starting to short-circuit his brain. He was so lost in her that he couldn't even hear the warnings anymore and even if he could it, was doubtful that he would listen to them, his mind too clouded with the thoughts of her – too blurred with the need to be with her.
As his mouth neared the band of her jeans, he glanced up at her, his fingers playing with the button. Her eyes caught his for only a brief second but he saw the permission that reflected in their dark depths. He quickly released the snap, and then slid down the bed to pull them off her. She wiggled her hips from side to side, trying help him remove the clingy fabric, when they finally slipped free of her legs and he tossed them across his room. He crawled back over the top of her, letting his mouth come back down on hers hungrily.
He groaned as she moved her hips slightly, pushing against his aching crotch ever so slightly. The movement made it even clearer to them both just how much he really wanted her. Her fingers glided lightly over his bare chest, making him tremble, then they raked over his stomach, settling on the snap of his jeans – her fingers much more skilled and sure than he would have expected.
He broke their kiss, trying to somehow let himself think. Could he let them go through with this? Could he let her make this choice? Would he be able to face himself the next day if he let this happen? Would they both regret it afterwards? But looking down at her, her eyes reflecting every emotion like a movie, showing just how willing she was, he returned his mouth to hers, kissing her hard, before sliding his mouth across her jaw to her ear.
“Are you sure?” he whispered, dropping a light kiss to her neck, “Really sure?”
Her eyes tipped towards him, hesitation showing just a fraction in her eyes. “More than I’ve ever been.”
