Ryan's POV
"Hey you ready to go?" I asked, opening the door to Lena's room.
"Is that what you're wearing?!" Lena asked. She had on neon pink skinny jeans and her 'team Sam' t-shirt that she had somehow managed to turn into a halter top, it think it's called, and decked out with her paints and designs.
"What’s wrong with it?" I looked down at my 'team Sam' t-shirt under my jean jacket and black jeans.
"You look gay. Actually that would be an insult to gay guys everywhere."
"Hey!" Lena brushed past me, walking straight into my room and to my closet. She pulled out a pair of dark jeans and my usual leather jacket.
"Put this, on keep the shoes, and come get me when you're done." She walked out, shutting the door behind her. I quickly changed leaving my jacket since it was pretty warm out and headed back to Lena's room. I knocked on her already open door. She was putting on a black vest.
"Let's go. I don't wanna miss kick-off."
"Hold your horses." she retorted, stuffing a small box in her bag.
"What was that?" I asked.
"Leverage." Lena replied, brushing past me.
Sam may have been a football player, but she sure did look good in her cheer leading uniform. Is her spandex zebra print? Damn that's hot. I felt a small pain in my side. I looked over at Lena.
"You're drooling."
"No I'm not." I protested feeling my cheeks heat up.
"Bet you can't even tell me the score." she smirked. I opened my mouth to speak, then closed it realizing she was right. I frowned as her smirk widened. "It’s half time any ways." I turned my attention back to the field as Sam and the cheerleaders started their half time cheer. Yep zebra print. I feel stalker-ish even though I know I'm not the only guy in the stadium staring at... did she just do the splits? I tried to subtly adjust my jeans. Judging from Lena's snicker I failed miserable. Sam was tossed into the air and I swore my heart dropped as she fell back down. I let out a breath I wasn't aware I was holding as the other cheerleaders caught her.
"Wow," Lena said.
"What?" I asked, not looking away from the field.
"You've got it bad."
"Shut up." I growled.
The game was a massacre, Sam won the bet like everyone knew she would and Lena and I headed towards her truck. She handed me the box before jumping into the truck bed.
"Ok Lena seriously, what is this? 'Cause in case you forgot she thinks I just wanna get in her pants, so I can't exactly say 'here this is leverage' now can I?"
"How 'bout 'I'm sorry for being a douche, please give me a second chance'?"
"But what do I say when she asks what's in the box?" I hear Sam's laughter in the distance along with some of the football players'.
"Say 'a surprise'. Now turn around before they see me!" she whispered. She laid flat on her back and I turned around slowly hoping to see Sam without half the team surrounding her. No such luck, she was walking towards me with her entourage in tow, which now included a cheerleader named Alexis, I think. I turned my head back towards Sam's truck.
"She's with half the football team. What now?"
"You grow a pair, that's what now." Lena hissed. I turned back around and waited for Sam and company to get to the truck. She had just become within ear shot when her million dollar smile disappeared. I held the box tighter.
"Just when I was enjoying my life." I heard her say. I refused to let her words get to me. I took a hesitant step forwards.
"Hey Sam."
"Ryan." she said, her voice level. I looked to her teammates.
"Hey can you guys give us a minute?"
"Whatever you have to say you can say it in front of them as well."Ok no leverage,I thought, great. I took a deep breath and repeated Lena's words.
"I'm sorry for being such a douche and I really want to make it up to you, so..." I held out the box. She looked at it for a minute before taking it in her hands. "Samantha Evans will you give me another chance and go out with me?" She opened the box as the sentence left my mouth. Alexis let out a gasp.
"It's beautiful." Sam said. I couldn't hide the smile on my face.
"Please tell me that means yes." I said, shifting from foot to foot. She bit her lip.
"Ok, but," my smile faltered, "if you screw up I don't want you anywhere near me ever again. Got it?" I nodded and rushed her, picking her up off the ground and spinning her around.
"Put me down!" She shouted laughter in her voice. I set her down. Someone cleared their throat. It sounded feminine so I looked towards Alexis. Alexis however was looking towards Sam's car. I followed her gaze to find Lena in front of us with her hands on her hips. She was eyeing Sam with a small smile on her face. She took off the vest she was wearing.
"You're Sam right?" Lena asked even though I had pointed Sam out at the very beginning of the game. Sam nodded stiffly. "Do you like my top?" Lena asked spinning around so she could show off the back. She nodded.
"Actually it's pretty classy considering the other versions I've seen tonight, umm... I'm sorry I don't know your name." Sam was still stiff in my arms.
"Lena Miller, Ryan's sister." Lena stretched out her hand for Sam to shake. Sam finally seemed to relax as she shook Lena's hand. "If you need any dirt on him or if you need to know if someone's spreading rumors about him just give me a call." She headed in the direction of my car.
"Dude your sister's hot." Wesley said.
"You're not her type." I told him.
"I could become her type." he said, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Not if you're six feet under." I smirked at him while wrapping my arms tighter around Sam. A car swerved right next to our little group. I thought the car looked familiar when the window rolled down and Lena popped her head out of the car. Wait that's my car!
"Hey Sam can you give Ryan a ride home? Please and thank you." She looked over at the guys. "Hey blue-eyes!" Blake pointed to himself. "Call me if you want a tattoo!" I must be seeing things 'cause I thought she winked at him before speeding off. I was still standing there, shell shocked. First she steals my car, then she hits on Blake.
"She would be so dead for stealing my car."
"If...?" Sam asked.
"If she wasn't home schooled." Then again I should be thanking her. All thanks to Lena Sam is currently in my arms and going on a date with me tomorrow.
