Macy rigmor didn't realize her clock was broken until after telling herself she'd get up in 5 minutes about 20 times that morning. Her clock read 7:00, but she knew it couldn't still be 7:00 after about an hour and a half of wallowing in bed. Jumping out of bed and throwing her clothes on, she rushed down the stairs.
"Ugh!", She thought "mom is going to be so frustrated with me!". Her family had planned on going to the soup kitchen to volunteer that morning around 8:00. Oops! The thought of blaming her tardiness on the Broken Clock came to mind. It really was the clock's fault! Well... Sort of. As she near the kitchen the smell of burning toast flooded the hall. Upon turning the corner she was met with what seemed at first a usual sight.
Her mother and father sat at the kitchen table. Brandon, her father, was using the computer to check his email, while Bianca, her mother, was drinking her morning cup of tea. The sounds of the TV came from living room. Everything looked fine but there was something extremely wrong--neither of her parents was moving. Not even blinking! Macy was stunned. She couldn't move and started to feel light-headed for a second, but then regained composure. She went closer to the Frozen figures to get a better look. Their faces were so still they could have been carved from Stone. Her head was spinning. She thought, "they're dead and I wasn't even here to see what killed them!", She fell over sobbing and crawled to the guest room where she hid under the bed.
She had been fearfully sobbing in the quiet for at least an hour, when she heard someone walk into the room. She quieted her sobs. Her first thought was, "someone who's not frozen or dead!", but then a wave of Terror rolled over her. Could this be her parents killer? Macy held her breath. Suddenly the bed skirt was lifted.
