"Don't let it happen again. That's your second warning," said the catcher stiffly. He flipped a switch to let her out of the Box.

The Box was a small, cube-shaped room with pure white walls and floors. Instantly after stepping out into the dully lit hallway, Kari felt the migraine coming. Ten or so other captives stepped out of their boxes in the hall beside her and on the levels above. The ones that had never served time in the Box before sat on the ground and put their heads between their knees.

She looked around for a familiar face - who knew, maybe one of her friends was involved in the exposure- but of course everybody looked different.

If anyone accidentally exposed themself as a witch to anyone in the Community, they were immediately taken to the Catcher's Station, where the witch's memory of the incident was wiped and they were issued a new identity. That included an entirely new face almost.

After serving time in the Box, they were sent to a new Community and issued a new Compartment and job. If they messed up three times, they were sent to a Satellite Community where they most likely died in training or battle. For Kari, that was one slip up away.

Kari walked quickly to one of the checkout desks. The receptionist's eyes scanned lazily down a news article on her holoscreen. Kari swiped her arm through the hologram to get her attention. The receptionist looked up angrily. Kari rolled her eyes in the bitchy attitude she'd perfected and held out her new ID chip. The receptionist plugged the chip into a port and looked through the information on the screen. Kari attempted to read it through the screen- she hadn't been allowed to see her new information yet- but the receptionist flipped the privacy switch and Kari's side of the screen turned black.

"Port 3, pod 46," she announces. "It'll be waiting outside for you. A Protecter from your new Community, #250, will meet you at your Compartment after you arrive. Your journey will be approximately 58 minutes."

The receptionist handed Kari back the chip.

"And don't forget. This is your last chance," the receptionist inserted smugly.
