Chapter 1

Sam's PoV

I wake up again, it's been a year, and I know everything's over. I hear footsteps, and pretend to be asleep.

"Watch me scare the pee out of her." I hear someone laugh quietly.

"NOPE!" I yell, tackling the person. "Fail!"

It's Mike, he's been trying to scare me every morning for the past month. It isn't really anything, the one time I wasn't awake yet, I threw him into his friends. Now nobody stands around him when he tries.

"Why are you always up first?" He groans.

I let him up. "I had nightmares for a month, and the waking up early stuck. The only reason you got me asleep that one time was because I had been in a tournament all night!"

Max nods. "What's first this morning?" He rubs my head.

We calmed down a bit with our relationship, a lot of people were finding it weird.

"Breakfast, and free time until lunch." I shrug. "Orders filled out last night, right?"

Peach shakes her head. "We're getting the new recruit today, remember? They won't be here for breakfast, but they'll need their lunch order recorded."

I nod. Mario was transferred after a competition, and our cabin always has to be full. I heard the new person wouldn't stop acting like video game characters. The one that really got everyone was Pokemon. Apparently they had life-size figures, and started yelling at people to battle them.

- timeskip to after breakfast -

I pull Max over, and smile. "Rematch?"

He grins. "My choice."

Last night we had a Mario competition - whoever got to the end first won. He hid a red shell, and threw it at me right before I won, so he did instead. Even though I chose the map.

We go to the open simulation, and he keys in his codes. The simulation hums, and we walk in.

It's the Yoshi level from New Super Mario Bros. Wii! Max starts running, and I follow. I grab a Yoshi egg, and it hatches a green Yoshi.

- timeskip -

We're tied, and both of our Yoshis are gone. I jump on his head, and land on the pole.

"I win!" I yell. "I played this one a lot."

He smiles. "Let's go back to the cabin and have a Pokemon battle."

I nod, and we walk back.

- timeskip -

Someone's sitting on the steps in front of the door, mouthing some song. They see us, and stop.

"Are you Sam and Max?" She asks. "I'm Mia, but call me Ashley."

I nod. "Did you ever get a battle?"

She grins. "Actually, on my way here, I had a really good 3DS battle with a guy."

Max smiles. "You'll need to fill out your lunch order and other orders, then we'll show you around until lunch."

She shrugs. "Sounds good."

- timeskip -

"And this is the main simulation, everyone can access it." Max shows Ashley the simulation, and I smile.

"Want to have a Pokemon battle on this? It's more like the anime, so much is possible!" I grin.

Ashley makes a pose like Ash, and smiles. "I accept your challenge!"

- timeskip -

"This will be a one-on-one battle with no time limit. Battle begin!"

I throw out my Pokéball, I chose Delphox. Ashley chose Pikachu, I should have guessed. This is going to be fun.

- timeskip, I'm too lazy to write the battle -

"Both Pokemon are unable to battle! This battle is a draw!" The simulation fades out, and I smile at Ashley.

"Good job, let's go back to the cabin, everyone should be back by now." I smile.

- timeskip XD -

Everyone is standing outside, talking. Kim and Dust are sitting on the steps, talking about something. Mike turns to us.

"What took you so long?" He glares at me.

I glare back. "Why do you care? This is Ashley, our new member!"

M and Jacob look at each other. "Doesn't she have to go through initiation?"

About two months ago, they settled their differences and now do pretty much everything side by side. I've posted a couple #Macob signs around, they keep pulling them down.

"Pokemon's a yes, I'll take her out for the rest after lunch." I reply.

Ashley shrugs. "She said I have to fill out a lunch form?"

Peach nods. "Just check your schedule, then I'll go take this up."

Ashley does her schedule while I open the cabin and get everyone to their bunks. She walks in, and I nod.

"Choose one. I suggest not the one between M and Jacob, they climb over it a lot." They look at me. "You're not quiet at all!"

Ashley walks to the bunk where Mario used to sleep, and sticks a poster to the bottom of the one above her.

- timeskip to return to cabin after lunch -

I sit down, I need a little time before the initiation. I hear a paper crinkle, and I pick up a note.

'Dear LARP cabin,

You have been invited to a cake party (who guesses the reference? :3) in Dome S1. I hope you come!

-G' (Okay, I really said that... If you don't get the upcoming line from the title and everything, if you've played the game... HOW?!)

Everyone has the same note, and Kim shrugs. "Sounds FUN!"

Dust nudges her. "You don't need the sugar!"

Kim makes a sad puppy face, and Dust laughs. I fold up the note, and shrug.

"Isn't that the old dome that had the first simulation place?" Max frowns.

Jason and M nod. "It was shut down because it kept stopping."

I shrug. "It's deactivated, and the desserts weren't given out today. Let's go."

- timeskip wow that's a lot -

I open it, and everyone else follows. The lights turn on, and the door shuts automatically behind us. There's no cake. I go to open the door, and it's locked.

"The cake was a lie." (YES!) GlaDOS? "There is no party. You are coming to Aperture Science."

I hear something, but before I can fully process it, I black out.
