When him and Louis first got together, Harry was over the moon. He had been developing feelings for the older since they had been put into a group by uncle Simon, more than a year ago. Yet he was too scared to act on those feelings. So he kept them for himself, not wanting to risk their friendship. But as the time passed it had become harder and harder to hide it. He almost reached the point where he was about to burst, when Louis had stepped up to him and declared his love for him, Harry Stiles. Taking him by complete surprise, but making his dream come true.

The first weeks of their relationship had been absolutely amazing, but soon, too soon Harry had realized that something wasn't right. Being with Louis was great, but something felt off, like there was something missing. But he couldn't put his finger on it. Of course he didn't tell Louis about that as he once again hid his feelings. But apparently he wasn't doing such a great job, because it wasn't long before the older confronted him. At first he had tried to deny it, saying nothing was wrong and that he was perfectly fine. Louis had seen through him though, said his eyes were giving him away. Told him when Harry was lying. What followed was a long, slightly awkward, but serious talk. A talk that had scared the shit out of him really, since he was afraid of losing the one person he loved with all his heart. But in the end it was Louis that made him realize what was wrong, or rather what he was missing.

Before he started dating the Doncaster boy, he had always dated girls and with those girls he was always the man in the relationship. Not that he wasn't a man with Louis, but with the girls he was the one looking out for them, taking care of them. Even though they all had been perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. He always felt responsible to do so. Felt protective. Not in a bad way, but it just came naturally. But in his relationship with Louis, this all simply wasn't necessary and would be unwanted if he tried to act like that. It had made him realize a dreadful thing, that maybe him and Louis weren't meant to be. A chill went down his spine, thinking that.

He was about to speak those thought, but Louis beat him by speaking up first. He confessed that he had experiencing almost the same thing, since Harry himself didn't need taking care of either. But what Louis had suggested than had made him gasp like a fish. The Doncaster boy had made the bizarre suggestion that they needed a third in their relationship. Harry had laughed, called the older nuts. Louis however stayed calm and explained that the really fit well together and that their only problem was that they were missing something and that something could be filled by a third. Which would prevent them from either being in a unhappy relationship or breaking up and be miserable. He even went as far as telling Harry that he already had his eye on someone who could possible join their them, be their third. Shocking him even more by telling him it was no other than Niall.

Noticing it had all become a little too much for him, Louis had told him to go to bed and sleep on it. Letting the whole thing sink in, before taking any rash decisions. Numbly he had nodded, before he stumbled towards their shared bedroom. However that night the older hadn't joined him, really letting him alone with his thought. Letting him figure out what wanted to do.

Days passed before he finally realized that what Louis had suggested might have been unheard of, but also true. They were missing something when it was just him and Lou. So adding a third to their relationship, just might be the solution. But why Niall though? What made Louis think that he was the right person to join them? So he decided to go talk to his lover, which he had barely done in those days. Not that he minded really, Louis had given him the time and space he needed to figure this out.
