Wasting the night away

"Elise!" someone yelled.

I looked around the station, but I couldn't find him anywhere. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder and spun around. There he was, in his blue-gray flannel and jeans. I could not have felt more giddy.

"Wow. You look cute." he grinned.

I thanked him as I admired my own long, baggy sleeved shirt with my favorite leggings. I'm glad we decided to keep things casual, or else I don't know WHAT I would've ended up wearing.

"Cade, " I exclaimed louder than I thought I did, "I CANNOT believe we're doing this. We're sneaking out. I'M sneaking out!"

"Yeah you are! Excited?" he asked laughing.

"Extremely. So, what's first?"

Cade took out his phone and logged into the app. I leaned beside him as we read the list.

"Alright, first up is buy some funky street merch." he said cringing.

We both looked at each other , then I shrugged my shoulders and said, "You heard the list! Let's get going!"

And with that, we raced out of the train station hand in hand, running through the busy New York streets. People stared at us as we bumped into them, but we didn't care. Tonight, we were going to be together and nothing could stop us.

We then approached a street vendor and had to slow down. Cade almost fell over me, but luckily I had my balance just in time. We walked over and saw some neon, plastic sunglasses, colorful hair extensions, fake mustaches and fedora hats. We took one look at each other and then nodded in agreement. Cade pulled out his wallet and we got our street merch.

"I must say sir, your mustache, fedora, and neon sunglasses make you look quite fancy" I said in a British accent.

"And may I say, " he said tucking my hair behind my ear, " Your hair extensions, fedora and sunglasses make you shine like a star."

I laughed, then he got out his phone to check the next item.

"Alright, looks like we just have two more things and then we can do whatever we want afterwards." he said going to maps.

"Great! Where to?"

"The Ferris wheel! Let's go." he said grabbing my hand.

We ran as quickly as we could to the park, and once we got there we raced towards the Ferris wheel. Luckily, the line was shorter than usual so we got on pretty quick.

"Wow! This is awesome." I said looking out at the city as we went up.

"Yeah it is."

"So, what's the last thing?"

"Well. We kiss."

I blushed as he leaned in close to my face. I closed my eyes and pushed my face forwards to meet with his. His lips were soft, and his hand caressed my cheek as we kissed. I wanted to stay there forever, but he leaned back; without letting go of my face. He smiled, then we sat back and looked out at the city, hand in hand.
