VICTORIA'S P.O.V
"I need more time." I say, pushing past him and escaping the suffocating room.
I burst through the door of the girls' bathroom heaving, leaning over a sink and looking back at myself through the dull, stained mirror. My cheeks were pink, and my eyes were a blink away from being drowned by hot tears. I run my hand through my already messy hair in frustration. Only he could get me worked up like this.
He complicated everything and now he thinks he can just...sweet talk his way back to me? Screw that. Screw him. I'm gonna have my own fun.
------
"Hey Ryan," I jog up to him as soon as the last bell rang, signalling the end of the day
"Hey." he smiled down at me, his cheeks sinking in as they formed his dimples.
"Got any plans for tonight?" I look around and spot Tyson staring at me. Perfect, I smile to myself.
"There's a party at Josh's tonight."
I had no idea who Josh was, but I nod anyway.
"Its just a small gathering. The big one's on Saturday." he chuckled, referring to Rachel and Penny's party this weekend. They were like a modern day Gatsby when it came to throwing parties, only their only motive was getting shitfaced and more popular.
"Great," I glance back at Tyson and catch him approaching me.
"Pick me up at 7." I smile, giving his arm a small squeeze before turning and walking away as quickly as possible.
------------
By the time 7 o'clock rolled around, I was waiting in the living room, eagerly looking out the window to see if Ryan had pulled up, and more importantly, if Tyson was home: he wasn't. He's probably out with Delilah.
I shake my head to remove the thought from my mind.
I was wearing his jacket. It looked clumsy on me, but it made me feel...safe. The sound of two brief honks outside brings me back to perspective, and anger builds up inside me yet again. I hop off my couch and exit the door.
"Hey." I greet a smiling Ryan as I enter the shiny Ford.
I could swear I saw something out of the corner of my eye, but I forget about it when Ryan starts talking to me.

I watch as she enters a car. She looked gorgeous. She was wearing my jacket. That had to mean something..right?
Something came over me, and instead on pulling up in my garage, I drove straight ahead. Following them.
------
They finally come to a stop a few feet away from a house party. The bass of the music from the house boomed in my ears even though I was a good 100 meters from the residence.
Victoria exits the car, a guy following her closely. It's that Ryan guy from this morning. He takes her hand in his and my blood begins to boil. I cut the engine and wait for them to enter the house before I leave my car.

"This is your definition of 'a small gathering'?!" I yell over the loud music, but he only laughs. He pulls me through the crowd of sweaty bodies.
"I'm gonna get you a drink!" he says, and before I could protest, he disappears. I sigh to myself, questioning why I was here. I didn't know anybody here. Everyone seemed much older, and probably weren't even in high school anymore.
"Here!" he comes back, handing me a cup of..I have no idea.
"What is this?!" I make a face as the pungent concoction of alcohol stings my nose. He smiles and nods, not hearing me.
I sigh, sipping the drink. He looks at me expectantly, and I hide my cringe with a pained smile. He laughs, nodding. I force it down my throat, feeling tears spring to my eyes due to how strong it was.
-------
The party began dying as the 1 hour mark rolled by. We were now seated in a quieter lounging area. Ryan refused to dance as he thought it was a waste of energy.
"Are you ready to go?" I ask him wearily, smiling innocently at him.
"Oh no...you're not having fun... are you?" he looks defeated, as the slur of words exit his mouth.
No. Not at all. I wanted to say, but the look on his face stopped me.
"No! It's not that, I just...Let's do something." I shrugged, not thinking of what he might suggest.
He thought for a while, and then his eyes lit up, almost in realization. I looked at him with question.
"Follow me." he smiled, helping me up.
He leads me to a room.
