Jack stood silently, staring down the misty street on a crisp October day. The leaves had begun to lose their green hue, now tinged red and orange and yellow, slowly fluttering to the ground. His ears were awashed with hushed whispers, inaudible murmurs that slipped through his mind. Looking down the once-empty street, he saw faint figures gliding beneath the streetlights and behind buildings. If he watched for too long, the voices grew louder, the mutterings becoming words that rang through his ears and plagued his thoughts.
Jack stepped forward, his gaze fixed on a small, transparent boy just to his right. The voice got increasingly louder, the words echoing in his mind. "Mommy, please, I didn't do it, I didn't do it, don't hurt me..." The voice was loud, extremely loud, the sounds of the boy crying audible between his pleading words. The last thing Jack heard before he looked away was the sound of a gunshot, the sound booming through his mind, causing him to stumble and wince, his ears ringing.
The voices strung together again, suddenly eerily quiet, the only noises being the whispers that sounded like rushing water.
A/N
I just put this out as a preview, I was wondering if I should continue or not? I was bored after a final one day so I took out a piece of paper and randomly started writing, and this happened. Thoughts?
