Toriola

Ah!
Te mi ba mi!

I'm in trouble!
Mo Ku!

You are probably wondering why I'm exclaiming so much and overdoing the theatrics, but you probably would do the same In my situation.

A crazy man is following me and shouting about how I'm the love of his life.

Heeey!

E mi?!

Ife è?

Olorun ma je!

Ah! I should have just kukuma gone to unilag or a private university in Nigeria like my parents suggested. But noooo! Me I had to go and do omo baba olowo and say I wan go UCF. Ah what is wrong with me. Why can't I just listen for once.

Why did I have to come to the states? I mean with all the bad stuff that happens here, Nigeria was the better and safer choice. I didn't even notice when tears began to drop from my eyes.

Come on Toriolaoluwa you need to be strong.

With my shaky hands I furiously wiped at my tears.

Who knew one night, one stupid fucking night that I had to just take that none sense walk, it might be my last because some mad man is looking for me.

It seems like I was in my head for a while because I didn't notice when he crept up behind me until he pulled me flush against his chest by my waist and whispered in my ear,
"Found you darling."

Hi guys! Author here. I decided to delete my other story because I didn't think it made that much sense and I really wanted my main character to be from my country. I will translate some of the words I use here as they are not English but a native language in Nigeria called Yorúbà and I'm guessing not everyone knows the language.

Te mi ba mi: I'm in trouble
Mo Ku: I'm dead
e mi: me
Ife e: love of your life
Olorun ma je: God forbid
Kukuma: just
Omo baba olowo: child of a rich man.
Wan: want to
