It was 6:52 in the morning. I'm sitting at the table in the corner of the school cafeteria with a few of my friends. As we're talking I look from across the table. A boy who I've never seen or met before is there. My ex had just broken up with me over text the day before school started and it made me really upset. He told me I'd find a guy ten times better than him. Long distance relationships clearly don't last. I needed to take my mind off of what happened. Not gonna lie but he's kinda cute. I glanced over and in that moment saw him staring at me. I couldn't tell whether he was just off into space thinking about something or trying to study me. My eyes meet with his for the first time. This would continue to happen every day. I was too nervous to start a conversation with him because I thought I'd make it awkward. And he probably has a girlfriend anyway. I should just give up on love and stay single. Because it never works out.
