Chapter One- The Flight

I make it upstairs and straight into my bedroom. I squeal with happiness as I start to think of what I'm leaving here.

"No more Jess and her goons. No more abusement coming from other people. At least I hope not. I get to live where it is nothing but warmth and the beach. This is exciting!"

I connect my phone to my Bluetooth speaker and the song, 'Vapor' by Five Seconds of Summer starts blasting through it.

I sing as I start to grab all of my clothes, taking whatever is on a hanger off, and rolling them up so they all fit in my large suitcase.

As soon as the song ends, I finished putting all of my clothes into the suitcase. "Next up. Shoes!"

I don't really have that many shoes. I have a pair of my black VANS with the white stripe on the side, my burgundy VANS, my UGGS which I plan on wearing, and a pair of white slip on VANS. Can you tell I like VANS?

I throw all of my shoes in the suitcase neatly and place all of my favorite candles on top before closing it. Placing all of my favorite room decorations in the front pouch; I was finally finished. I grabbed my phone, charger, speaker, and my headphones along with the suitcase, and started walking down the stairs. Giving one last glance at my room.

"See ya!"

I run downstairs excitedly and set my bag down by the door. I run and hug my mom.

"I love you, mom!"

" I love you too, Ashley. Make sure you call me when you land please."

"I will mom. I promise." I say releasing from the hug.

We then hear a honk coming from outside.

"That's our taxi."

"Well, I guess I'll let you guys get going then." She says, giving me and my dad one last hug.

Another honk.

"Okay, we've gotta go!"

We walk outside and my mom shouts bye to us.

We quickly throw our bags into the trunk and set off our way to the airport.

*At The Airport*

We make it through security and are on our way through the terminal to our seats.

"We are in the 3rd row on your right." My dad says as I lead the way to our seats.

I love having the window seat.

"Nervous for your first time on a plane?" My dad asks while we wait for liftoff.

"Not really. Just excited."

"Okay. I hope you don't mind if I go to sleep. It's my second flight today."

"No, go ahead."

"Okay."

'Ladies and gentlemen. This is your captain speaking. We are now preparing for liftoff to LA, California. Please fasten your seatbelts. Lift off is 5:30. Expected to land 11:00. Have a nice day and thank you for choosing 'American Airlines'

I make sure my seatbelt is fastened and stare out the window. It seems to be more cloudy since we left the house. All well.

About 2 hours into the flight it begins to pour down rain. I begin to get a little nervous.

"Just a little rain never hurt anyone, Ashley. Stay calm."

My dad is still sitting next to me. Passed out; snoring and all.
