II.

4th December, 2017

I'm in the dining room, studying for my exams next week. My house is a big mess since I haven't been able to organize it, my study is taking me all my time, I need high grades so I could keep my scholarship.

Somehow, my phone buzzed for the third time in less than seven minutes, all the calls were coming from Ethan.

I have been ignoring him for the past few days. I've told him that I don't have time now, and he keeps bugging me, it's getting on my nerves, to be honest. I decided to simply turn the phone down, I wasn't in the best mood, lately.

Richard was going to stop by later so we could study together, so I made my way to the bathroom and took a quick shower.

I decided to wear one of Ethan's hoodies once it was comfier and made me feel closer to him and a simple pair of skinny jeans. Got some food ready and everything was set for Richard to arrive.

I finally hear the door bell ring and as fast as I can I open the door.

"Hi Richard." I said giving him the space to come in. I kissed his cheek and he kissed mine.

"Hello, Piper." He said looking tired, I probably looked just like him.

We decided to start studying as soon as we entered the dining room. We were eating some snacks, while tutoring each other.

Suddenly, I hear the bell ring. I got up, having an ideia of who it could be.

As soon as I opened the door and his face entered my sight field, I rolled my eyes.

"I'm studying, Ethan."

"Piper enough of that bullshit! Why won't you even reply to my texts? You haven't answered my texts or calls in four days." He said now entering my house.

"I have already told you that I'm studying. Don't you get it?"

"Well, can't you take five minutes of your day for me?"

"Ethan, why are you being so self centered? You know how much I want this. This is my only chance of achieving my dream. I barely sleep, I just don't have the time, I don't have any time for this. Do you know how hard anatomy is? Stop being a prick. This my first year and it's one of the most important ones, I need the best grades I can, Ethan."

"I know that Piper, I just think you're, maybe, trying a little too hard. Look at your eyes! I don't even know how you can hold them open!" He said getting closer to me, I could feel his gaze on me, and I kind of understood his side, but I needed this. "I miss you, I just wanted to be able to make you relax a little, and maybe sleep better, anything... Something." He said, now lowering his voice and looking directly to my eyes.

"Piper, are you there?" I heard Richard voice and he entered the room me and Ethan were currently in, my eyes were still on E, and I noticed the way that his expression changed in a matter of seconds.

"Who is he?" Ethan looked at me, confused, mad. "You don't have time for me, but you have time for him?" He said now almost screaming, his eyes showed me his was hurt.

"Ethan" I rolled my eyes, wishing Richard had just stayed where the hell he was.

"I don't care anymore, Piper." He said before living and slamming the door behind him. I am too tired to go after him.

"I'm so sorry, Piper." Richard said and I just shrugged my shoulders.

"I don't care anymore as well, Richard, it doesn't matter. Let's study." I said too tired to even fight.

The rest of the day was useless, I couldn't focus in anything. All that came to my mind was Ethan and how upset and hurt he was, and it was all my fault.

After Richard left my house, I did the same, driving to Ethan's. I need to talk to him, I need him. I'm too tired, too stressed.

Grayson opened the door and as soon as he saw me his face changed moods.

"Piper, hi." He said calmly.

"Hey, Gray. I'm sorry to be bothering you this late, but I really need to see E."

"I don't think he's in the mood right now." Grayson said to me and I almost begged him to let me enter their house.

He let me come in and I thanked him with a small hug, then I ran to Ethan's room and knocked on the door slowly.

"Grayson, leave me alone." He said grumpy, and I slowly opened the door.

"It's not Grayson." I said, coming in.

He was laying in his bed, listening to music, while the room was completely in the dark.

"Get out, Piper."

"Ethan, Please!" I said letting all my stuff at his door and making my way to his bed, where i sat, getting closer to him.

"Now you need me? Well, you didn't seemed to care, earlier. Leave."

"Ethan, you know how stressed I get when I have exams and oral presentations, I'm so sorry. You have all the right to be mad at me. I know I've been the worst person in the world to you. Please, I just need you." I said looking at his eyes, almost closing mine, with tiredness.

"You know that I actually need you, don't you?" I asked looking at him, for the first time he looked me in the eyes.

"Who the hell is this Richard guy?" He seemed to ignore what I just said.

"He's the best student from my year, we were studying together." I told him, holding his hand, needing his touch, his warmness.

"I won't ever ignore one of your texts or calls on purpose again. I'm so sorry. I'm so tired, I need you. I need you, I need your touch, I need your love. I like you so much, and I miss you even more. Eth, please, forgive me."

My voice didn't sound as desperate as I was, having Ethan being mad at me had to be one of the worst feelings in the world.

"Just promise to never exclude me from your life like that ever again. I'm here to help you, to support you. I love you and I just want to be with you, and I don't care if it's only for 1 minute, Piper."

Ethan said and my heart jumped on my chest, a wide smile grows in my lips as the words escaped his mouth.

Fuck, I love this boy so much.

"I promise."
