The Deflation of my inner Happiness

I wake up, groggily. My heart is beating faster than usual, and I literally cannot move. My chest feels heavy and my breathing is funny, wheezing slightly. I try and look round without causing myself too much pain. My eyes drift around the room. It's white. Literally all white, with a boring green plant thrown on one of the little desks. I hear the door handle turn, and in comes my mom, dad, Gus and Isaac. Followed by a brunette, who is the definition of skinny; her collar bones jut out, as do her hip bones and cheek bones. I don't know why she's in here but no one seems bothered. My mom bursts into a fresh pile of tears that gush gently and silently down her face, and my dad pats my shoulder, grimly aware his tears are threatening to over flow. Gus strokes my arm and smiles at me. Isaac fumbles around and tries to find his way to a chair. The brunette rushes over and helps him. Maybe she's a helper? She doesn't look very helpful. Actually, she looks quite trashy. My mom goes on about me needing to rest more, as it was a 'close call'. I nod but internally I'm trying to figure everything out. So my mind made up a kiss? And not with Gus? I'm confused. And tired. Very tired. My eyes are heavy and start to droop. As I drift off, I finally click. I can hear Isaac and the girl mumbling. It hits me.

They're together.

It's Monica.
