His palm caressed my cheek, stroking it softly. Giving a mischievous grin, he placed a tender kiss on my forehead.

He nestled his head on my shoulder, his blond locks grazing my face. "Cathy Linton, you are my everything. I love --"

Suddenly, my eyes flashed open in shock. Shaking off my drowsiness, I frantically glanced around the dimly lit room. Linton sat by my bedside while I lied in a paralyzed position.

"...boys. I love boys," Linton whispered, tears forming in the corners of his eyes. He paused, recollecting his thoughts. "I know you may not understand, but --"

"No, no, I get it." I repeated sternly. Sitting up, I grabbed the bedpost and turned to look him directly in the eyes. "It's Hareton, isn't it?"

A rosy flush covered Linton's cheeks. He began to speak, but closed his mouth.

I continued, placing my feet on the carpet and rising, "He's handsome. He's strong. He's..."

"Perfect," Linton finished, standing to meet my gaze.

"And that's why I shall have him." I gave a cunning smile and headed towards the bedroom door. Grabbing the knob, I turned my head.

"If I cannot have you, you cannot have him."
