At The Beach

Amanda's POV

   I wake up, feeling like I've gotten the best sleep in the world. The last 13 days have been amazing, with Leo and I celebrating our birthdays. I'm so glad we're finally a couple. Then I check my phone. 9:32. Oh, crap. I'm supposed to meet Leo at the beach at 10. I jump out of bed and grab my swimsuit. Leo complimented my patterned ruffled bikini that I wore to the pool, so I slipped that on, along with my cover up. After brushing my hair and grabbing my bag, I run downstairs and make myself a bowl of cereal. I eat and pack at the same time.

  I call to Mom,"We're leaving at 9:40, Mom!" She replies with," I know. Already in the car!" I brush my teeth and look at my green eyes in the mirror. I look good today.

 After slipping on flip flops, I rush downstairs and into the car. Mom says," Where to?" "The beach, please." While in the car, I whip out my phone. Leo has texted me.

LEO: Headed to the beach, madam?

AMANDA: 😝 You're so silly. That's why I love you.

LEO: See you at the beach, babe

AMANDA: You too

I put my phone into my bag, just as we pull up to the beach. I still have to set everything up. The time in the car reads 9:50. "See you later Mom!" I call to her as I step out of the car, with my bag, and she pulls out of the parking lot.

  I look around. Thankfully, there is nobody else here. I set up my bundle of balloons and duct tape them to a lawn chair. I make sure to find the exact location of the sandbar. I even dig a huge ditch, trying to make it in the same spot as before. Just as I finish these, Leo's mom pulls up and Leo walks out.
