Lukes POV
I scratched another tick in the wall marking off another day. It's been three years and fifty nine days since I was taken in the middle of the night.
Now I'm stuck up in the soundproof attic of a man I'm told to call Drake. I have no clue if that is his real name or if its an alias. I stopped fighting a long time ago, now I take it as it is. If people are still looking for me, then they are. If they arent then they arent. This is my life now, whether I like it or not.
*THREE YEARS AND 60 DAYS EARLIER*
"Kelly! Come on baby! Please forgive me?" I asked my girlfriend. We got into a fight because I called off another date. I guess it is my fault, but I had to. My mom needed me to watch my baby sister, even though she is sixteen. My mom didnt trust her enough to let her be in the house for longer than 2 hours without an adult, and my mom would be gone for 2 days. At least she would be back tomorrow so I wouldnt have to "watch" her anymore.
"Luke, look I know that you have your responsibilities with your family. And I do respect that. I don't think this is just about calling off another date. I can forgive you for that. It's more than that." She sighed and took my hand. We were sitting on my living room couch. "Luke, this relationship just isn't working out. You know I love you, but not in that way. I hope you can forgive me and we can stay friends. Plus, there is somebody else. Before you get mad I'm not doing anything with them. I have a lot of mixed up feelings and I don't think that I'm making the right desicion being with you right now."
"Kelly please? Being with you has made me so happy." Unlike most guys my age I do share my feelings with my girlfriends, because I feel like they trust you more and that they see the real you. Plus, they like it. I'm not one of those guys who shares absolutely everything in a gay way. Because I am most definitely straight.
"Look Luke, I think we need to break up. Being with you has been amazing but it's also made me realize some important stuff about myself." She looked me in the eyes. "Luke, I dont think my door swings the way most girls door does. The person I met," She paused. "Isn't a boy." She told me. I took a deep breath in. Wow. Okay, my girlfriend is gay. I have no idea what to say. What do I say.
"Oh." Oh? Really? Thats what you say? Can I please mentally slap myself?
"I'm sorry Luke." She got up kissed my forehead and then walked to my front door. "Bye, Luke." She walked out of the door and closed it.
I fell facedown on my couch and groaned. My ex-girlfriend was gay. I groaned again and sat up.
I heard a chuckle from behind me. Without turning around I knew who it was.
"How much did you hear Ashley?" I asked my little sister.
"Enough to know that you turn girls gay!" She laughed and walked out of the room. Great my little sister is going to text all of her little friends and tell them that her older brother turns any girl he comes into contact with gay! Great.
I headed up to my room to get some sleep. It was getting pretty late.
*************************
I woke up to my phone ringing. It read Garett. I didnt feel like talking to my best friend, but I dont think I had a choice. Looks like he called three times before and I was only now waking up. I picked up the phone and hit the green button.
"Dude! I called you three times! What the hell are you doing? I heard about Kelly." He said immediatly.
"Dude, you sound like my way to attached girlfriend. Chill. Yeah, she broke up with me." I said back.
"Sorry, but get to the part about her being gay!" He said
"She told me she's gay. Thats all there is to it. Beforeyou say it, no, I did not walk in on her making out with a chick. Or anything else!"
I heard him sigh, he's sick. "I dont have time for this Garett I have work."
"Whatever dude. We are going out to the club tonight though." I groaned internally.
"Whatever. Bye." I hung up. Yeah, he was myy best friend but he was the most annoying person on earth sometimes. I got dressed for my job as a bartender at the club we were going to tonight.
*************************
"Dude, come on! You're taking your time like a girl!" Garett said.
"Alright! Im done!" I said back.
"Can we please go to the club now!?"
"Alright. Lets go."
Ten minutes later we arrived at the club. Garett hopped out and immediatly went up to two girls. One of them linked arms with him and the other came over to me and hung on me. It was kind of annoying. I went over to the bar and grabbed some drinks for me Garett and the two girls he got.
Six drinks later I was on the dance floor with the girl. She looked absolutely amazing. My vision was blurry and I had to fight to be able to stand up straight.
"Garett! We need to go!" I shouted over the loud music. He ignored me and danced with the other girl. I shook my head and left the club. It was dark outside and I was close to my car when I realized the bartender took my keys.
"Crap." I steadied myself on the side of a wall. I pulled out my phone and called the cab company.
"Hello, cannn I have a cab deliveres to this umm this club?...five minutes?...Ok." Five minutes until the cab gets here. I sat down at the side of the building and waited.
Five minutes later the cab pulled up.
"Luke?" The cab driver asked. I mumbled some variation of a yes and got up. I got in the back of the cab. He turned around and told me his name was Drake. I said hi to him.
"Rough night partying and the bartender took away your keys?" He asked
"Yeah. Oh you missed my turn." I said.
"Oh, I know another way around. Sorry just habit." I groaned. My head was killing me. "Here," He handed me a bottle of water. "Head killing you? You need to drink some water." I gratefully took the water and downed it quickly. Soon my head felt a little better but I was getting really sleepy. After a while I couldnt hold my eyes open any longer, so I closed them and fell asleep.
I woke up to darkness. I was laying on a floor but I had no clue where I was. I remember being in the cab and falling asleep. Now I'm here. A slab opened in the door.
"Hello Luke." A familiar voice said from behind the door. "Look up and you'll see a light switch." I looked up and sure enough there was a light switch. I flipped it on and the room lit up. I was in an empty room. The light wasnt very bright and the window was boarded up.
"Why am I here?" I asked
"Oh Luke. You made the mistake of having to much to drink. My job is to keep nuisances like you off the street." He told me.
"Wait, you're the cab driver from last night? What the hell man?" I said
"Luke I suggest you dont use profanity here." He said
"What you dont want me to say bitch, ass, damn? Well to bad!"
The door opened and the cab driver walked in. What was his name again? Drake thats right. The guy was at lest 6 foot 8 inches, and he was built.
"I suggest," He put emphasis on 'suggest'. "You do not use profanity here."
"Okay! No cuss words, I get it." I said.
"Good, now I have a sandwich for you. I'll see you at dinner time." He handed me the sandwich and walked out of the door.
I got up and went over to the door. I tried turning the knob but it was locked. I pounded on the door but he ignored it. I went back to where he put the sandwich and unwrapped it. I took a bite and spit it out. It tasted horrible. I plugged my nose and forced it down my throat.
