I roll to the side of my bed where my nightstand is and I blindly grab for my phone, knocking every damn thing off in the process.
"Fucking shitdicks," I mutter.
I made the mistake of checking my phone to see who's decided to snap me in the middle of the night, only to be blinded by the bright screen.
"Why can't the brightness go any lower," I groan.
I unlock my phone and press on the notification.
"Who the hell is 'dinahdime'?"
dinahdime: hi! I'm dinah, and I think you're cute
Y/N: flattered. who are you?
dinahdime: I just said?
Y/N: no I mean how do you know me and how do you have my snap??
dinahdime: ohhh, I got it from mani, I'm a little offended you don't know her best friend
Y/N: that's why your name sounded familiar!! believe me, mani doesn't shut up about you "dinah ate my wings again" "dinah's being annoying", you get the idea
dinahdime: I'm not annoying :((
Y/N: I'm sure you aren't
Y/N: quick question tho, I don't actually know what you look like other than mani's description, send a snap?
dinahdime: you won't be ready, I'm hella cute

incoming call from dinahdime...
"Uh, hi?" I laughed, my voice being slightly raspier than usual since it was so late and I hadn't been talking.
The only thing I heard from the other end was a lot of shuffling and the muttering of "shit even her voice is hot" coming from who I assumed to be Dinah.
"You know I can hear you, right, love?" I chuckled.
"Oh um, yeah! Hi!" She giggled.
"So, don't get me wrong I'm loving this company, but any particular reason you called at", I paused to look at the alarm clock on my nightstand. "Two in the morning?"
"Shit I didn't realize how late it was, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to wake you-"
"D, don't worry about it, I'm quite entertained" I teased.
"I only called because you're a nightmare to text, I mean who just puts "insert pic" instead of actually sending one?!" She huffed.
"Sorry about that, but if you were so inclined to see my face, why wouldn't you just FaceTime me?" I giggled.
I heard a loud smack and her mumble "why didn't I think of that" immediately after.
With a huge smile on my face, I quickly ended the call and pressed the little video camera in the chat to call her.
She almost immediately picked up. The first thing I noticed was how adorable she was with her oversized hoodie on and her hair in a bun.
"Damn, mama. You're cute." I not so subtly flirted.
She immediately blushed and whispered a soft "you too".
"So, Dinah, now that you've seen me, are you still down to talk?" I ask with a raised brow.
"Yes! I- uh, I mean yeah" She adorably tried to play off her excitement.
"Alright good, now if you don't mind mamas, I need my beauty sleep"
"Oh yeah of course! Sorry again, for waking you up, y'know" she said bashfully.
"It's okay Dinah" I giggled.
"Hey, um I don't want to sound creepy or anything but do you mind if we don't end this call? I sleep better if I sleep with someone"
I immediately started laughing, while it took her a second to realize that I completely took it the wrong way.
"Y/N! I didn't mean sleep like that!" She huffed.
"I'm sorry," I say in between laughter.
"I would be more than happy to not end this call. Goodnight, Dinah"
"Goodnight, Y/N" she smiled.
I waited until her breathing evened out, and I knew that she was asleep until I actually tried to sleep.
This was the first time in a while that I actually fell asleep with a smile on my face, I guess I'd have to thank Dinah for that in the morning. But until then, I'll just sleep.
