Chapter 1: Regret

Teresa and I sat next to each other, waiting to arrive wherever we were going. Minho was sitting across from us, knocked out from getting electrocuted. We looked at Dad, who was talking to Dr. Paige, kept glancing at us.

I was doing the right thing, right? I trailed off, looking to my feet. Wait, I didn't even know where we were going. Were we going to the last city or back to the WICKED facility/sanctuary?

After what seemed forever, we finally landed. We were in the last city. I shrugged, I remember hating this place because of how unfair it was, no one was allowed to in the city anymore, to prevent crank attacks.

Why did I choose to be here? I regret it, I could've been with Newt and the others. I barely knew them, but at least they were kind to me.

"Y/N! Did you hear what I was saying?" Dr. Paige asked. Everyone looked at me.

"U-um no, I-I'm s-sorry," I stuttered, Dad rolled his eyes at me.

"I said, go inside with Teresa, you girls need your rest," Dr. Paige told me. I went inside to see Teresa next to an opened door. I walked in and noticed that it looked exactly like my old room. Nothing but a bunk bed, a dresser, and a window.

I fell onto the bottom bunk and covered my face.

"So, I guess we can get to know each other better," Teresa suggested.

"I don't mean to sound rude, but I don't want to," I responded.

"Why?"

"I just regr-" I was interrupted by the door swinging open. I jumped up, startled.

It was one of the guards, my friend, Leo," Hey girls, your friend, Minho, is awake. He wanted to talk to the both of you."

We both got out of the bed and walked out of the room. Leo took us to a room where Minho was sitting.

I tried to be gentle," Hey, Minho."

He mumbled something that I couldn't understand.

Teresa spoke," I'm sorry, can you repeat that?"

"I said, TRAITORS!" Minho got up and grabbed my neck. Teresa tried to get him off me. Leo and another guard knocked him out.

I ran back to mine and Teresa's bedroom. I sat on the bed, my knees to my chest and cried. Why? Why would I betray them? I cried until Teresa came in, I wiped my tears.

"Hey, Y/N, you ok?"

"Yea, I'm totally fine. Someone just attempted to kill me, but I'm perfectly fine," I said sarcastically.

"Ok.. I'll just go to sleep now," Teresa climbed up the bed.

This was really bad I think.. I might just cancel this book if no one likes it. Sorry 😐 But tell me your thoughts on it.
