Hey guys, I finally finished Blue Lily, Lily Blue!! Sorry that it took so long. Also, I was thinking about writing some one-shots about these characters, so give me ideas if you want to see that.
Pg 186 - "'If I kiss my true love, he'll die.' Jesse nodded as if to say yep, that's a good one." (I love how they're just talking about curses like we would talk about the weather.)
Pg 186 - "'Right, but home could be on the other side of Henrietta,' Blue persistent. 'You could always drive by this pace and say whoo hello house with bleeding walls see ya later.
Pg 187 - "...then she saw Gansey's expression just behind Calla. His fingers lightly touched his temple and his cheekbone, and his eyes looked off at nothing. Blue wouldn't have been able to interpret it a few months ago, but now she knew him well enough to realize that this was relief: the unwinding of an anxious spring. He looked genuinely ill." (This feels cute to me. Idk, it might just be me being sappy.)
Pg 190 - "'I can't believe you aren't dead somewhere,' Ronan told Blue. 'You should be dead somewhere.'" (Thank you, Ronan, for being so concerned)
Pg 218 - "The hair moved. 'Jesus shit Mary Fuck,' said Ronan" (I can just imagine Ronan jumping so high and getting so freaked out and hiding behind Adam.)
Pg 227-229 - (So, I was going to copy down this whole scene, but I don't really want to do that. So just go check it out. It's the scene where Calla is yelling at Blue and the boys for bringing Gwenllian to 300 Fox Way. My favorite part of this scene is how Adam and Ronan are hiding from Calla outside the kitchen for the whole scene.)
Pg 232 - "'I don't even know what to get. A kennel?' Ronan asked...'What else? Flea collar?' 'You already made a dog joke. With 'kennel'' 'So I did Parrish.'" (Just mundane, Adam and Ronan at the store. I love them!)
Pg 235 - "Ronan pointed to the (grocery) cart. 'Get in there.'
'What?'
He just continued pointing.
Adam said, 'Give me a break. This is a public parking lot.'
'Don't make this ugly, Parrish.'
As an old lady passed them, Adam sighed and climbed into the basket of the shopping cart...With a savage smile, Ronan shoved the cart off the curb and belted toward the BMW." (I love this scene. Also, am I the only one who has always wanted to do this? Am I crazy because this sounds terrifying and painful, but I still really want to try it? I need a Ronan in my life to force me to do things like this.)Pg 240-241 - "'Her aura is like yours - it's blue,' he said. 'The clairvoyant aura!'
'Is it?' She was going to be extremely annoyed if this was how she had gotten her name - like naming a puppy Fluffy." (I love this.)Pg 245 - "'What do we do now?' Gansey asked.
From the other room, Calla bellowed, 'GO BUY US PIZZA. WITH EXTRA CHEESE, RICHIE RICH.'
Blue said, 'I think she's starting to like you.'" (RICHIE RICH!!!!!!)Pg 267 - "Gansey might have found Gwenllian, but Blue had to live with her. All the women of 300 Fox Way had to, actually. It was like living with a natural disaster, or a feral child, or a feral natural child disaster."
Pg 273 - "Blue thought this seemed like a reasonable goal. After a pause, she said, 'You know, I like you.'
He (The Gray Man) glanced over at her, 'I do, too.'
'Like me or like you? The grammar was unspecific.'"Pg 282 - "Blue took that opportunity to step out quickly, back into the middle of the room. 'I don't understand.'
'Nor do I,' said Gwenllian carelessly. And I starve from this idle talk.'
The woman started down the attic stairs.
'Wait! Called Blue. 'Will you tell me about my father?'
'No,' Gwenllian replied. 'I will get mayonnaise.'" (I love how random Gwenllian is.)(Also, random pause from the quotes, does anyone else not read some names and just fill in the words with random sounds and an idea. Like, I know that Gwenllian is Glendower's bastard daughter, but her name sounds different in my head every time I read it. The same thing happens with Aglionby. I know it's the school, but it's just a jumble of sounds that start with an Ag-. I don't know. I just want to know if I'm extra weird.)
Pg 319 - "'Two is a terrible number. Two is for rivalry and fighting and murder.'
'Or marriage,' Adam said, thinking.
'Same thing,' Persephone replied.'"Pg 322 - 323 - (I'm crying too hard to write this out. Just go read it. It will probably have more effect if you have the book anyway.)
Pg 329 - "'She's dead'" (I couldn't figure out how much to put into this quote, but this feels like the only part that really matters.)
Pg 337 - "Both boys were unsettling - Adam Parrish, in particular, had a curious face...And Ronan Lynch looked like Niall Lynch, which was to say, he looked like an asshole."
(Oh, youth.)Pg 349 - "How could some days have so many hours in them?" (Me, on way too many days.)
Pg 366 - "'Seriously,' Blue told him. Then, hurriedly, 'Not you though. I don't think you could touch the water. You'd dissolve like that stone.'
'And you won't?'" (Ah, Ronan, you do care.)Pg 385 - "One of the articles had noted that the valley was beginning to look like a dangerous place to live: Niall Lynch, Joseph Kavinsky, Jesse Dittley, Persephone Poldma.
Everyone had been surprised to discover Persephone had a last name." (I don't know, I mostly just wrote this one down in case I, or someone else, needed Persephone's full name.)Pg 387 - "'American politics! More dangerous than a ley line.'" - Malory (Have truer words ever been spoken?)
Pg 390 - (In the cave next to the third sleeper) "'Who are you anyway?' 'My name is Neeve.'" (I literally screamed the first time I read this.)
