Years passed, and he’d become something of a father to me. Of course, by vampire law, he technically was my father, but he hadn’t felt like one until then. He changed someone else, a young man, Michael, who’d been a thief on the streets, and who became a brother to me, not only in spirit, but again, by law.
I never did marry. Everyone was either too afraid of Michael or too afraid of Kro to approach me. But I had plenty of friends, a few of which were friends of Kro’s as well. Of all of them, I remember Niko the most, especially now. Why?
Because he’s the one that brought my family and I to the top of vampire society.
