AVERY'S POV
I woke up with my head hurting and my nose all stuffy. I think I'm sick. A few minutes later, my mom knocked on my door and came inside. "Avery, you are gonna be late for school. Wake up." She says. "I don't feel good." I said and sniffled. She put her hand on my forehead and said, "Okay. You can stay home. Me and your dad will be home at five and I will leave you some money and medicine." I nod and close my eyes and fall asleep.

I open my eyes and see Biel looking at me. "Biel, what are you doing here?" I ask. "I came here after school cause you weren't there." He says. "I didn't think you'd notice." I mumble. "What did you say?" He asks. "Nothing. Where's Shantel?" I ask. "She's with her friends. Also, I have good news." He says. "What is it?" I ask and sat up and he sat beside me. "I asked Shantel to be my girlfriend and she said yes." He says with a huge smile on his face. My heart just shattered into a thousand pieces. "Oh. Well, I'm happy for you." I say and fake smile. "Thanks. So, what do you wanna do?" He asks and I shrug. "I want pizza." I say and he laughs. "Okay. I'll call the pizza place." He says. "There's money on my desk that mom left. You can pay that." I say and he shakes his head no. "I'll pay. Don't worry." He says and I sigh knowing I can't argue with him. "Fine. Lay beside me." I say and pat my bed. He lays on the bed and I put my head on his shoulder and he puts his head on my head. "I wanted to confess my feelings to the guy who I liked... but it's too late." I sigh. "Why is it too late?" He asks. "He already has a girlfriend." I say and my voice cracks. "Oh." Was all he could says. "When I found out, my heart shattered. But I'm happy for him." I fake smile. "You can find someone else that's better than him." He says. "No one is better than him. No one can ever replace him in my heart." I say and tears rolled down my cheek. "Hey hey hey. Don't cry." He says and puts his arm around me. He wiped my tears with his thumb and looks at me in the eyes. "Don't cry. I don't like seeing my best friend sad." He says. My heart broke more when he said best friend. We heard the doorbell rang. Biel opened it and he came in my room with two boxes of pizza. He gives one to me and I open it, my favorite flavor; cheese supreme. "I bought two boxes because I know you don't share food." He says and we laugh. "You know me so well." I say. We ate the pizza and watched Netflix on my laptop.

"I need to go. It's almost six and my parents must be looking for me." He says and I nod. "Bye." I say and kiss his cheek. He left and I was all alone. My parents weren't home yet, they said they'll be home by five. I sigh. They probably are gonna come home late... again.

I turned off my laptop and went downstairs. I sat on the couch then the telephone rang. I answered it.

Phone call:
Me: Hello
Unknown: Avery. It's mom.
Me: Oh hey mom. Where are you and dad? You said you'll be home by five.
Mom: We have to work overtime. We'll be home by three am.
Me: Oh okay. Well, goodnight.
Mom: Goodnight. Be safe.

They're always busy. They always don't have time for me. I go to the bathroom and pee. I found something on the counter. It was...
