You two sat in the hogwarts kitchen, uncomfortably perched on one of the marble counters, tea In hand, stolen cookies to the side. A late night decision to sneak out while the other marauders were fast asleep. It wasn't an uncommon thing between you two, to go out in the late hours of the night, enjoying each other's company.

This time, it felt different. Because you wouldn't see each other for awhile... summer break was approaching fast, and with only one more year left, we was wondering if you would want to see him after hogwarts.

He couldn't help but stare, taking in every single inch of you, the curve of your pink lips, grasping onto the memory of you, so there was no chance of forgetting. Like he could forget you...

Every moment like this, he noticed new things about you, like how your hair was messily put up, strands that didn't get pulled up lazily tucked behind your ear. Or how you every sip you took was slow, careful, as to not burn your tongue. How the sliver of moonlight from the small window highlighted your face perfectly.

Godric, he was brutally aware to the way your fingers moved through his hair, twirling and brushing through it mindlessly, oblivious to how you had him wrapped around those fingers. You had him melted in your arms by the simplest of actions, and he didn't know what to make of it.

It wasn't love, because love to him was pain. Nothing good could come from it. Simple as that.

But as Sirius felt your body shifting away from the counter, probably just to get more tea, he didn't want you to go. Not in this moment. He didn't want to feel cold space where you were, even if it was for five minutes. He wanted you to brush through his hair, to ramble about potions class. He wanted to talk about the next Hogsmeade trip, and place a stupid bet on who could drink the most butter beer. He wanted to wander out into the halls late at night, with you right by his side, whispering about how it was 'Colder than salazar slytherin' in the castle. He didn't want that to end. And quite frankly, he never wanted it to end.

"Don't leave me," His hand slipped to your waist, his touch just light enough to draw your attention to him. "please."

"Okay." you smiled sweetly, eyes landing on his as you settled back in. It took the air from his lungs for a second, seeing the softness in your eyes. "okay.."

Maybe it was love.
