The new girl

Alaya's POV

I stood there, looking at my self in the bathroom mirror. I was nervous. I guess that's normal when you're starting in a new school in a different place. Yes, I'm the new girl.

I moved to New Jersey from New York, cause my dad got changed to another department. I have no idea what he works with, but I think it has something to do with either finance or law.

"Alaya! Maria is here!" I heard my mom yell from downstairs. I did a last touch-up before heading down.

Maria is the girl next door. She had brunette hair and blue eyes. She were always looking good in the clothing department and her makeup was always in fleek. She actually helped me with my first day outfit.

I grabbed my phone, house keys and backpack and ran downstairs. I said goodbye to my mom.

"So we're going to pick up my boyfriend, Tyler and his friend, Scott. We're meeting Spencer and her boyfriend Matt at the Starbucks right beside the school. I think you're going to like them." Maria explained when we were driving off to school. I nodded and kept looking out the window.

We stopped by a house and two really handsome guys walked down to the car and got in. I smiled as Maria introduced me.

The whole car ride was Scott and Tyler discussing this years lacrosse team. "So we have André and Danny. They're strong on the field." Tyler started. Scott looked down at the floor in the car. "Yeah, we also have you. You're one of the star players out there. Remember how you scored the winning goal right before the game ended?" Scott sounded really worried.

"You're gonna make it Scott. Don't worry so much. Besides I've heard that the Dolans are gonna try out and to be honest, I don't think they'll make it. Did you see them before summer vacation?" Maria said. I snapped out of my thought and looked at her. "What? They weren't that fit for lacrosse." She said.

"No nothing, it's just my friend from home. She know who they are. They make videos right?" "Yeah. They do. And the videos are pretty shitty if you ask... like everyone." Tyler said and laughed.

I don't think they are.

We parked outside the Starbucks and walked in. We were greeted by a girl with brown hair and bangs. She hugged Maria and the boys and looked at me. "You must be new. I'm Spencer." She said reaching her hand out. "Yeah. I'm Alaya." She gave me a smile.

"She's the smart one." Maria said. "So shall we order? School starts in like 30 minutes." I nodded and walked over to the counter and ordered. I got a Peach Green Tea Lemonade. It was my go to drink at Starbucks.

I walked over to the part of the counter where you get your drinks and waited. Scott walked over to me when he had ordered and waited with me.

"So what brings you to Jersey?" He asked. "My dad got transferred over here from New York and he thought it was easier to move the family then to take the train one hour every single day back and forth." I said. He nodded and smiled.

"So you're trying out for the lacrosse team?" I said. "Well yeah. I tried out last year as well but got benched. So this summer I've been working on lacrosse and I'm hoping to make it to first line." I tried to understand what he was talking about, but I didn't. Instead I stood there and smiled and nodded.

"Alaya" I heard the girl behind the counter shout. I walked over and got my drink.

We got to the school and walked inside the halls. I was really nervous by the way everyone was looking at me. "Don't be so nervous. You're shaking." Maria said into my ear. "Why is everyone staring at us?" I asked. Maria laughed and smiled "cause you're hanging with the popular kids of course." I looked at her and smiled.
