I woke up Friday morning and looked at my phone. I sighed and got up. Why does school start so early?
I walk over to my closet and picked an outfit. I decided to go for leggings and an oversized hoodie. I walked to my bathroom and did what I had to do. I looked over at the clock on my desk. I grabbed my stuff and walked downstairs to grab some breakfast.

"Please tell me that this is a lie?" I walked up on Maria and Tyler talking. "What's up?" I asked. Maria looked at Tyler pretty mad. "Uh.. I have to watch my little brother and the family dog tonight so I can't make it to the party." Tyler seemed pretty bummed about it.
"Oh come on! Your little brother can take care of himself. He's 13. Just give him some microwaveable food and he'll survive." Maria sounded really upset. "I'll ask my parents. I can't promise anything. I'll see you at lunch" He said as he kissed her on the forehead. "Bye Alaya" "see ya" I waved at him.

The day went by so slowly. When I got home I went straight up to my bed and ended up taking a nap before I had to get ready for the party.
I decided to wear a black body and a pair of dark denim shorts. I went to my room and did my makeup and straighten my hair. I looked in the mirror.

Am I really ready for this?

I admit that I wasn't used to being treated like the popular kids and never got invited to the parties of the year. I just didn't know if I was ready for this or not.
I heard a car outside and I ran over to the window. Maria was here. "Where are you going?" My mom asked. "I told you yesterday that I was going to a party." "Oh right. Just be careful, okay?" "Always" I said and kissed her cheek and got outside to Maria's car.

When I got out of the car I saw a lot of people dancing, making out and talking and I got a lump in my throat.
"There you are!" We saw Scott and Tyler coming towards us. Maria ran over to Tyler and kissed him. I hugged Scott and we went inside the giant house.
"Can I get you a drink?" Scott asked me. "Sure." I said and he walked over to the kitchen.
"When I invited you I didn't mean that you could bring a date." I looked up and saw Ethan standing there with a smirk on his face. "Who said that he's my date?" I asked and raised my eyebrow. He looked down and smiled.
"So do you wanna dance?" Ethan asked and reached his hand out. I looked at it for a while and furrowed my brow. "Maybe after my drink." I said and looked at Scott who was standing behind Ethan with two drinks in his hands. Ethan turned around and looked at him and then turned back to me. "Okay. But you better save one dance for me." He walked away and Scott walked over to me.
"What did loser want?" I looked at him. Scott seemed sweeter. I didn't think of him as a bully type of guy. "Loser? I think he's nice." I said in defense of Ethan. I don't think he's a loser. He's great. "Really? You know the reputation on he and his brother right?" I had barely heard one thing about them before I got here, but nothing bad. "They're outcasts and weirdos. They're nothing like us." I was confused. How could he say this about someone he barely knew? "How are they 'nothing like us'? Just because they're twins?" I asked. "Why are you defending them?" I didn't think before my drink was all over him. And I walked away. I had to find Ethan.

—————-

I was walking around one big house trying to find one person. Not the easiest thing I've done.
I walked outside to find someone sitting by the edge of the pool looking down at his feet in the water talking to himself. "I knew she would be like the others. Why am I so stupid to believe that she would be different?" It kinda broke my heart listening to him. "You're not stupid" I said. He turned around and looked at me, but turned away almost as fast. "Where's your friend?" He asked. I sat down beside him. "Scott is probably in the bathroom trying to get the drink I threw at him out of his hair. And he's not my friend." He looked at me as he was about to laugh. "You really threw your drink at him? Why? What happened?" I smiled and looked at the water. "He was talking trash about someone who didn't had a chance to prove what nice people they are." I said and looked up at Ethan. He had been crying. I looked at him and dried away the tear on his cheek. He let out a chuckle.
We ended up sitting by the pool talking the rest of the night. It was nice. He told me about his and his brothers YouTube channel and how they started. He seemed a little ashamed about it, which was kinda understandable if you think about the rest of the schools opinion on them. But I wasn't like them. I knew a lot about them already, but it was interesting to hear the whole story.

I wake up and looked around. Last night was nice. I laid in my bed and thought about the conversation with Ethan and smiled. My phone was buzzing and I moaned and checked it.
