I smile as my heart thumps lightly in my chest. But even though it was light as feathers, I could feel something, love.  Castiel is....unique. He's quiet and kind. Except when he gets angry, when he's just raw angelic power. He's the best Angel I know. Yes, an Angel....literally.

After having done a lot of research for the Winchesters, I decided that I needed some fresh air and stepped out of the bunker's front door. The night was calm, and cool. Just as I started to enjoy the view of the nearby woods, I heard the flap of wings that announced the arrival of a certain familiar angel, Castiel.
"Hey Cas." I greeted casually.
"You're not researching." he observed.
"I needed a break, some fresh air."
Cas nods and we stand silently enjoying the night. After a few minutes I noticed Cas shift slightly and felt him wrap his hand with mine.
It was warm, and soft between my fingers and I pulled slightly to get his attention. He turned towards me and our eyes met. We just stood there, looking at each other. The light around us was dim, and it made Cas's face shine.
"You're so beautiful," Cas spoke quietly. I pulled him toward me and leaned my head on his shoulder, breathing in the smell that clung to his trench coat. He rested his head on top of mine and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"I love you Cas," I muttered. I didn't know why I told him I just knew that I meant it. Every single word.
"No one has ever said that to me before," he whispered.
"I've never loved anyone like this before," I say as I pull him closer, moving my arms to wrap them around his neck. We just stood there like that, for what must have been hours. Although it felt like days, years even.

Eventually, I started to pull away, but Cas tightened his grip and pulled me back into his arms, before pressing his lips to mine. Delicately, as if he was afraid he was doing something wrong. I quickly kissed back hoping to reassure him, and felt him relax into it....we stayed like that for a little while before he pulled back.
"That was...." He began scratching the back of his neck.
"Different." I offered, and again he simply nodded.
Just then a pair of headlights brightened the darkness outside the bunker as the Winchester boys pulled up.
