First day

Rachels pov..

I walk in on my first day of college. I take a seat in the middle alone to hope someone sits next to me. Making friends with someone other then my roommate would be delightful. I get a text and pick up my phone.

Ben: hope you have a good day(:

I smile loving the cute texts from my boyfriend every morning. Hes always gotta show his support, which I love. Benjamin Shaw is the cutest guy on the planet. Not only his looks but his loving personality. He cares about people and always puts everyone above himself. Not only his personality but hes very attractive. Ben has blonde short hair and big brown eyes. He has a little freckle on the left side of his chin.

Me: shhh.. Im in class(: i gotta concentrate.

I slide my phone into my pocket as soon as it buzzes but decide Ben's text can wait. He goes to a different college a couple miles away from mine. So we will be able to see eachother often.

We met our senior year of high school. I wasnt planning on finding my soulmate. I never even tried to make a move or even flirt with ben. One day we ran into eachother in the hallway. Already awkward we began walking the same way. At that point you would expect to say absolutely nothing but Ben turned to be and said." I was struggling to figure out how lightning worked but then it struck me". I couldn't help but laugh at his pun. He asked me if i wanted to go out for coffee and thats how it all started. Its been two years.

I feel someone sit in the seat next to mine pulling me out of my thoughts. I turn to see a girl with black curly hair and hazel eyes. She has a lot of peircings on her face and for a second I thought she looked familiar. The only type of peircing i have is my ears. My mom would freak if i talked to her.

" Hey my name is Grace Perry," she said with a warming smile. She had perfectly straight teeth with a clear retainer. I returned the smile.

"Rachel Walkers."

We talked the whole class and actually got to know each other very well. When class opened i pulled my phone back out.

Ben: it's hard to concentrate knowing im only a few miles away huh? Have fun thinking on that all day!;)

I smile and grace catches it." From the boyfriend i assume," Grace said pulling her backpack off the floor and onto her back. I nodded.

"Yeah.. We've been together since senior year," I said smiling.

"High school sweethearts how cute!"

Me: the situation is the same for you silly;)

"Come on Ray put the phone down we have to go do something other then sign up for stupid clubs.. I have a few friends going to the dinner down the street wanna come? You can even invite that boy of yours," Grace said smiling. I looked at the time and only had an hour to read the huge book we had to have chapter 1 to chapter 9 done next week.

"Sadly I'll have to pass. Maybe another time," I asked and she smiled.

"Of course here's my number give me a text!"

Grace leaves and you walk back to your dorm. When you get there you see a note on your bed. You pick it up and read it.

My love for you is like the raging sea,
So powerful and deep it will forever be.
Through storm, wind, and heavy rain,
It will withstand every pain.

I knew exactly who left the note even if it didnt have a name at the bottom.

Me: didn't know you were into poetry

Ben: What?

Me: The note you left me silly:)

Ben: umm.. Babe i didnt leave you a note???

Me: Then who left me the love poem?

My hands start to shake. Im trying to breath but it feels like my chest is getting stepped on. Was someone in my room? My roomate said she was out all day. I start to look around. I see the closet in the corner of my eye. I slowly walk over to it and slowly pull it open but nothing. Maybe one of my roomates friends were pulling a prank on me.

Ben: don't worry to much. I bet everything's fine. But if you need me to ill come down and we can go out to dinner. Im free the rest of the night.

Me: i have one more class left.. Maybe after?

Ben: sounds perfect.

Me: pick me up at 5?

Ben: wouldnt miss it for the world. Plus im more of a pun kind of guy;)

Me: you always know how to charm me.

Ben: its my job;)
