Part 1: my sixth birthday

I flinched as the sun flashed towards my eyes. I rolled over away from my window. I could tell my mom was not intending to homeschool me today. I stretched my arms out until I was completely awake. I let a yawn out and then grinned. today I would become six! Without considering getting dressed I rushed downstairs. I glanced at the clock shocked to see it was almost twelve. " hello sleepy head". I noticed my mom gazing at me sitting at the kitchen table. her glasses shimmered as the sun flashed at them. "good morning!" I rasped.

my mom brought me my birthday cake. I eagerly blew out the candles as I made one wish. My first real friend.

I walked to the park. I felt as if I needed to line all the kids up and choose my new best friend. I wandered throughout the playground area. I kept my eye on one kid. He appeared to have no friends too. Something inside me made me go and talk to him. He didn't seem to notice me at first. I gave a shy smile. He lifted his head and glanced up at me. I couldn't help but giggle. He smiled at me. "hi". he had a gentle voice tone. "hey! I'm Dakota!" "I'm Luka". He kept his gentle lavish tone. I could simply determine that we would be quite the pair. We wasted the remainder of the day running within the park, going on the swings and slides. I couldn't have wanted a greater new best friend. As soon as my mom told me it was time to go I told her all about Luka. "aw! that's great honey! whats his name?" " Luka." I yawned. I was about to open my presents. "Luka, ah. There hasn't been a Luka in Bismark in a while." My mother smiled carrying in my presents. "oh." I said confused. " I suppose you just don't know everyone in this town." I stated attempting to gain sense out of it. My mom plopped the presents in front of me. I choose a light blue wrapped present.
