Maxwell walked quietly down the street, the foggy mist sending shivers down his spine. He noticed a tiny doorway beside a hair salon called the ' Redbrick Bakery.' The brick walls around it were a bright and damp red. He sighed, It was the only place open this early, so he stepped inside. The warmth hit him quickly, he slid his hoodie down as he looked around. In the tiny room was a door that leads to a much bigger one which had a small old woman sipping her tea in the back. Then a tiny counter was in the back of the already tiny room, which had the bakery. He sat down at one of the tiny tables and took out his phone. Dead, Great. He glanced up to see the waitress, She looked familiar. Her face had a soft layer of pink dusted on it, Max took in her features to see if he could match a face to a name.
Soft poorly kept hair in a ponytail, a tiny scar on her right cheek. Her eyes shining a bright magenta, they glistened with the curiosity of a child. She fumbled with the menu and set it in front of him. ' W-Welcome to the Redbrick Baker--' ' Do I know you?' Max cut her off in her sentence, she paused before nodding, ' I-I hope so, I don't like strangers staring at me for that long...' She mumbled. Tracing her fingers on her hand, Max rose a brow and gave her one good look. She didn't have a nametag, yet she didn't need one. ' NIKKI!' A deeper voiced woman shouted from another room, She yelped ' A-Anyway I've gotta go be back in a second sir!' She chimed and quickly raced off.
Maxwell thought for a second, Nikki. It hit him in a quick wave. All those Memories. The girl with a tiny gap in between her front teeth and was always complaining about never eating bugs. The girl who Max shared his cot with at night because the camp had such major budget cuts. Maxwell felt his face heat up as he just flipped through the menu. After a bit, Nikki came back and looked at him, ' So... Do you still need my name or--' Max got up and hugged her tightly, ' Nice to see you Nikki.' He murmured as she hugged him back tightly. Then, a spark flickered in his heart. The Memories were flooding back.
