I can't say the memory of the forest is still clear in my head. In fact I haven't thought about anything from there in a while. I think we all tried too move on. There was the forest that no parent ever let their child wonder into. It was a beautiful forest from what we saw how could we not go in there. Tourist came in and out how bad could it be? We were dumb kids and how can you focus on your kid if you couldn't even feed them. Our parents were always working ... the good ones anyway. There was me of course X or by now most people called me Charles. Then my best friend Emily or Pie and my twin sister D. Those were the kids in our little trailer. At this point in my life we lived in a trailer park. I can't remember the name of it but it was fairly large and many people and the perfect balance of those weird people every community has.
Unfortunately Arnold belonged too one of those weird people family's. At least back then we thought they where weird always telling story's about the forest. They were the oldest family in the trailer park and Arnold was two years older than me. He had a bowl haircut that was made from dark hair his skin was much darker than mine and he was Mexican like me. Terry was the oldest girl barely oldest girl barely older but it counts I guess she came from a very beat up shack the one closest too the basket ball hoop tied too the tree. Terry had blonde hair with the mix of light brown she usually wore a bandana so her hair wouldn't fall in her eyes always accompanied by a budget basketball jersey she loved too tease Beth the barely youngest of the group she had blonde hair with the slightest streaks of brown and wore glass one of those nerdy big ones she couldn't see without them she wore fancier clothes than the rest of us too. Beth came from the owners of the trailer park she loved too read that's how people knew her the girl with the book in her hands which was true for the most part. Then came my first human friend I ever made who was a boy. His name was Jack he had dark skin with curly hair that went different directions all over his head. He didn't live inside the park just near it which was right behind the fence I lived next too.
Those times were beautiful and nothing seemed wrong in the world.
