When I got home I quickly changed into clothes I could wear in the barn. Once I was changed I put a pair of tennis shoes on and started walking. It is only a half mile to the barn and I figured I could use the exercise.

When I got to the barn I headed straight to Prancers stall. Prancer was my favorite horse at my grandparents farm. Prancer was a black thoroughbred that stood at 16.1 hands tall. Prancer had such an awesome personality he could be super fast and get things done but the second you tell him to slow down he puts his head down and acts like a trail horse.

I guess I was still pretty emotional from this morning because as soon as I stepped into Prancer's stall I broke down bawling. Prancer gave out a small nicker and bowed his head over my shoulder.

After about five minutes I finally stopped crying. "I'm sorry Prancer I'm having a really rough time with school lately" I said as I pet his neck.

"Why do I have to be such an overachiever boy? Why do I push myself so much?  All it does is stress me out." After talking to Prancer about my problems for a couple minutes I felt a lot better.

"Here you go bud" I said fishing a treat out of my pocket. Peppermints because they are his favorite. I give it to him. "Thanks for listening to me ramble about my problems."

I decided it was probably time to go home and study for my last two finals. We only had two days left of school before summer vacation. I was relieved, No more stress of school work and finals to worry about. I would have so much free time. My phone started blaring the song best friend by Sofi Tukker as I was walking home. Asher had insisted that be his ringtone.

"Hey Asher what's up?" I croaked. Boy crying really made my voice sound awful.

"Have you been crying Chlo?" Asher asked.

"Um yeah I had a really rough day so I went to the barn and had a good cry with Prancer" I explained.

"Oh well how about you come over and we can have a fire?" Asher asked sounding concerned.

"That sounds great but can we do that in an hour I have to study for finals?"

"Sure sounds great" Asher replied "see you then".  And hung up.

I walked in to the house grabbing a snack from the kitchen. When I reached my bedroom I put my snack down and changed into comfy clothes so I could study. Once changed I grabbed my notes and my phone so I could set an alarm for fifty minutes so I could go over to Asher's.

                                                                                          ~~~~
My alarm blared bringing me back into reality. I shut my alarm off and went to change. I decided on ripped skinny jeans with my roxy shoes, a black v-neck tee shirt and a gold bracelet that says 'what if you fly?'. I decided I should probably go wash my face off and put a new coat of mascara on. I wasn't by any means trying to dress up for Asher but after crying in Prancer's stall I decided it was probably a good idea so I didn't look like a monster.
After the short ten minute drive I arrived at Asher's huge house. The house had been given to Asher in his grandpas will when he passed away but Asher doesn't get it until he turns eighteen so his whole family lives there right now. As I pulled up Asher walked out to greet me.
"I asked my brother to join us but he said something about basketball with Aron and left" Asher explained to me.
"That's okay since when do we need your brother to have a good time?" I asked.
"You are right there. Okay so I have subs from the new deli downtown and I have the stuff for smores later is that alright?"
"Sounds good to me" I said grabbing a sub from him.
After eating our subs we took a couple pictures of each other with the sunset for Instagram. I wasn't a big fan of social media but I thought it was cool that you could look back at the pictures you posted like a little memory book that you always had with you.
We sat by the fire in silence both of us unwinding from the day.
"Hey Chlo?" Asher asked.
"Yeah Ash?"
"I have an idea and I want you to think about it before you totally shoot it down okay?" Ash asked softly.
"Alright shoot" I said.
What if we took a road trip this summer? You and me?" Ash asked in a rush.
I raised my eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
"Well I've been thinking about taking a road trip for a while and lately you have seemed stressed out so I think it would be good for you to go. We could go to the Badlands in North Dakota and we could see Yellowstone and Glacier National Park and Hollywood"-
"Alright alright I get it you want to travel the US" I said taking in what he was suggesting.
"Yeah" he said sheepishly. "I know it's a lot to think about so I don't want an answer today how about at the last day of school?"
I nodded my head. "Umm sure" my mind was whirling. "I'm going to go home. It's late and I have my last two finals tomorrow."
"Yeah sounds good. And Chloe don't throw the idea of the trip away, I think we could both use it".
I nodded "Night Ash".
"Night Chlo".
                                                                                   ~~~

As I lay in bed that night I thought about Asher's road trip proposal. Do I really want to go? Of course you do silly you want to travel the world. This would be a great opportunity. I mean what am I going to do this summer? I could work at my grandparents horse farm though. Okay come on Chloe you do that every year where is your sense of adventure? It's time for something new. Alright I am really going to do this I tell myself. I'll tell Asher in the morning there's no use calling him now it's pretty late I decide.
