Life isn't always what it seems to be,
She's a master of disguise,
Don't assume her life's easy,
Until you've seen it from her eyes,

If you haven't touched the books that waits in her endless libraries,
If you haven't heard the songs she hums when no one listens,
If you haven't tasted the carefully grown berries,
That proudly stands in her gardens,
If you haven't smelled the sent of the shelter in her mind,
You've only seen her face not the stories awaiting behind,

If you haven't swum in her sea of tears,
Or wandered around her forest of questions,
If you haven't seen the sunrise she kept hidden for years,
Or sought behind the waterfalls where she tucked her emotions,
If you haven't walked down the paths,
In the city she built within,
A city where she could express her wrath,
Where she could be herself without being seen,
If you haven't fallen down her pit of regret,
Or explored her lost island of hope,
If you haven't been trapped in pain's net,
Or climbed high on the expectation rope,
If you haven't crawled in her cavern of sorrow,
Or watched the stars from upon her dream hill,
If you haven't tried to slay Fear with no sword and a broken bow,
Or sadly stare at the ceiling in her doubt chamber laying still,
If you haven't been lost in her empty mind,
Or drowned in her endless thoughts,
She's a true mastermind,
Who makes you think she's just a sprout,

When in reality she's a wild jungle,
She holds the whole world in her head,
To you she might be a simple girl,
But there are so many things she left unsaid,

She took refuge within a mask,
Hiding herself beyond disguise,
She waits for someone to ask,
What are the stories behind her eyes.
