Or that's what you thought. Of course nothing was ever quiet in this world. There was some argument, some evil force to fight.

It had been on two days before Hoodie and Masky fought again. You were growing concerned for their relationship, especially as Hoodie was growing quieter and quieter. Masky spent most of the time in his room. Nobody knows what he was doing. Nobody dares to knock. Not since the blow he gave Hoodie a few days before Jeff's birthday came around. You were still really shaken at the thought of Masky hitting...well anyone who lived in this house. You'd known him a long time; it seemed so unlike him.

The evening before Jeff's birthday, you were wrapping his presents with EJ when Hoodie ran into the room, sobbing.
"I..he...wa...Ma." he fumbled for words, making you worry.
"Hoodie. Calm down," EJ's soothing voice even made you calm.
After composing yourself, you asked, "Hoodie..what happened?"
"It's Masky. He's gone."
I would say the colour drained from yours and EJ's faces, but there wasn't much colour to begin with.

Tripping over wrapping paper, and pieces of sticky tape still stuck to your jeans, you and EJ ran to the living room to find Slenderman in his chair.
"Slender! Masky has-"
"Gone. I know."
Your eyebrows furrowed at how calm he was being.
EJ, on the other hand, was completely freaking out.
"Slender! What if it's...you know.."
"What?" you exclaimed, "what is 'you know'"
Slender sighed.
"It's nothing for you to be concerned with. I'll sort it out."
"Oh yeah because not telling me last time worked out perfectly well," you waved your arms frantically.
Slender looked up at you. If he had them, one of his eyebrows would have been raised.
"I told you..you need not be concerned."
