Chapter 3

Bella's POV

"So let's start off with lockers. Lockers are in every building on the left and right sides. An easy way to find a classroom is to remember that the first number in the room number is the floor it is on. For example, if I need to go to room 405, I will need to go to the fourth floor and look on the left hand side. All even numbers on the right hand side, and all the odds are on the left." I say as we walk around the school. This is the most awkward tour I've ever had to give. It's also the first tour I've ever had to give.

"Here's the memorization part- the buildings. If you have an 'A' before the room number, it's the arts building. 'M' is math building, 'L' is language building, 'B' is business building, 'H' is the history building, 'S' is the science building, and 'T' is the technology building. The buildings have some sort of sign on or around them to make it easier to find the building. Also, if you get lost, you can just go inside a random building and see which one it is. If it's not the one you need to go to, just keep going in random buildings. That's pretty much how I found my way when I was a freshman." This is so awkward. He keeps looking at me and I can't help but look back. His eyes are a shimmering midnight blue it's so hard to look away. Focus, Bella. He's not good. He ditches school and you don't want to get on his bad side. His eyes catch mine and I can't look away. I'm not sure how long we're standing there, just staring in each other's eyes. After what seems like forever, the lunch bell rings and takes me out of his trance. As people start to come into the hallway, he leans in close to my ear. I can feel his warm breath on my neck.

"See you around," he whispers huskily into my ear. My knees start to get wobbly and I hold on to a locker. This has never happened to me before. What is wrong with me? I look straight ahead, composing myself. I see him ahead and he turns around, looks me straight into my eyes, and winks at me. I roll my eyes and walk to class. I have French 3 next. I don't know why I'm even in this class. I went to France last year and I pretty much know French fluently. Or at least enough to be in French 4 AP. But nooo, the stupid French 4 AP class is full and since they only have one class this year, I'm stuck in French 3. I sit down in the back in my usual seat. 10 minutes into class, Nathan walks in and sits down next to me. He starts writing down notes and acts as if he's been here the whole class. 'Just ignore him, Bella.' I sneak a look at him and he's now winking at the school slut, Tiffany, and her minions Jasmine, also know as 'Jazz' and Natalie, 'Nattie'. My friends and I call her 'Bratty' though. She's rich, he daddy owns a line of franchises so she loves to shows off all her money. I hate showing off money. Tiffany and I used to be best friends since her dad worked as a manager at my dad's company before he bought a line of businesses. But, she made her way into Sluttopia and I lived as normal a life as I could. The bell signalling class is over rang, and I rushed out as fast and I could. The rest of my classes went by in a blur, and before I knew it, school was over. I headed towards my car and sat inside to go pick up my brother, Blake, from Susanne Elementary school. He's in third grade, but he knows a lot of things he shouldn't. I blame Jesse. I start my car and start heading towards Blake's school. It's about 90 degrees outside so I turn on the AC. I stop at a stop sign and see Nathan walking alone in the heat. The nice part of me wants to ask him if he needs a ride, but the other part of me is scared. Before I comprehend what's happening, I hear myself talking to him.

"Nathan!" He turns around, "need a ride?"

"No," he says bluntly.

"Come on. It's 90 degrees outside and I'm not gonna leave you alone in this heat to walk wherever you're going." I'm not even sure what is coming out of my own mouth. I think my mouth has been possessed because I would never offer someone I just met a ride! What is wrong with me?!

"Are you serious? Aren't you scared of me? You just met me. How do you know I'm not dangerous?" He took the words right out of my head.

"I'm not scared of you!" He walks over to my car. My window is down and he leans inside close to my face.

"Are you sure about that?" He whispers. I can feel heat rushing to my face. The first time a boy has made me blush.

"Y-yes I'm sure." I croak out. I look away. He gets in the car and I move my car forward.

"Where do you want to go?" I ask.

"I just need some beer, so can you drop me at the liquor store?" He says casually.

"Sure," I say as normally as possible. Inside, I'm freaking out. Just as I'm about to turn into the lot of the store, Nathan tells me to stop.

"What happened?" I ask.

" You do realise that I was kidding, right?" He looks at me amused.

"O-of course I did! Like duh! haha!" I am so gullible.

"I need to go to the hardware store to pick up a few things." The hardware store is about a block away from Blake's school so hopefully I'll make it on time. We get to the hardware store and I drop him off.

"Do you want me to wait for you?" I ask.

"I live close by so I'll just walk. It's fine." He replies.

"Okay."

"Bye," he says.

"Bye," I say and drive to go pick Blake up. I walk inside and see Blake playing cards with a girl I haven't seen before.

"Hey Blake! Ready to go?" Blake and I have always been close as well and Jesse and I. Blake and Jesse were never really close. They just don't connect, I guess. Age difference maybe.

"Sis, this is Juliet. She's new here. He brother is going to pick her up but he didn't come yet. Can we please wait with her? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!" I can't say no to him. He's on his knees begging me!

"Okay, okay! Just get up!" I say to him.

He turns towards Juliet.

"Juliet, this is my sister, Bella. Bella, this is Juliet."

"Hi, Juliet! I love your name!" I kneel down and talk to her.

"Hi.." She says shyly.

Juliet and Blake go sit down on their desks and start playing cards. About 10 minutes later, the door opens and in walks none other than the famous, Nathan Wolfe.
