Chapter 1
A fresh start is a journey - a journey that requires a plan.
That plan is to start over, turn the page to a new chapter and start new.
The plan to forget the past and enjoy the present.
That plan will be my journey to a better place and a better time….well so I hope.I'm moving to a new town and it's nerve wracking.
It's been wild the past year, but I'm ready to start over and grow a hole 6 feet under ground and throw my past in there.I'm moving to a small town called Hill Valley with my mom. She got a job offer there, which is strange in a way but anyhow.
I'm happy that we are moving because it gives me something exciting to see out for, something I needed in a long while.
My name is Riley Johnsons. I am 16 and this is my new beginning.

After the ten hour drive we finally arrived at our new home. It wasn't that big, because it was just me and my mom, but it was big enough. It had a clean freshly cut yard and a two story house build on top of it. We already had the moving truck move our stuff earlier this week, so everything were already there. We just needed to unpack the boxes.
I helped my mom with getting her bags out the car and to the house. After everything was inside I could finally take a breath and look at my surroundings. The walls were a light coffee colour and the roof white with a small chandelier hanging at the start of the stairs, twinkling like some fairies were dancing on top of it.
“Your room is on the left side when you go up the stairs” my mom interrupted my thoughts.
“Go! Explore.” she exclaimed walking to the kitchen I assume. She always loved her kitchen.
I walked up the stairs slowly and hesitantly tlwith my white roller suitcase, clacking against each step.
When I arrived at the top of the stairs I bended down putting my hands on my knees.“Damn that's heavy.” I huffed out. Composing myself I started walking to my left. It was a small corridor that led to one single door.
Pushing it open slowly a soft creak could be heard from its hinges. I small smile crept on my face, because ever since I was a child I'd love it if a door creaks. It gave it that creepy, mysterious effect. Strange I know.
The room wasn't that big but big enough for a bed and a desk. I noticed that there was three doors in the room. I left my suitcase in the middle of the doorway.
Walking to the only door to my left I opened it to see it was a small walk in closet. Reaching the second door to the right side of the room I yanked it open to see it was a small bathroom with just the toilet, sink and a shower.
Moving slowly yet patiently to the other door next to the bathroom I watched it as if it was a new creation that never had been discovered. It was see thru and let to something with a light. I opened it up and saw that it was a balcony, and I couldn't believe my eyes.
It wasn't big at all but I didn't mind one bit. It was so beautiful outside, with the stars shining brightly above me and the wind waving threw my auburn coloured hair. I took I nice calming breath after letting it go and going back inside.
I walked back downstairs and saw my mom in the kitchen unpacking some boxes with tupperware inside. Running to her I gave her a massive hug.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” I rambled on excitedly. “I always wanted to have a balcony” I said giving my mom one final death squishing hug.
She laughed slightly. “I know honey, and I'm happy you like it. ” Handing her some tupperwares I replied “Like? More than love.”
She smiled warmly. “ So you excited for school? “she asked putting the tupperware into the cupboard.
“Yeah, I guess. I'm just very nervous and I suddenly feel sick.” I said pretending like I want to throw up.
“Oh don't be like that Riley. It's going to be great and you'll make lots of friends.” she said rolling her eyes at me.
“I know, I know.” I sighed.
“Go get ready for bed, you have a big day ahead of you.” she said dusting her hands of onto her pants.
I kissed her cheek stealing a biscuit off of the counter mumbling “Love ya, goodnight.”
I could hear her muffling sounds of scolding me in the background but I just shook my head with a faint smile on my face.
After a nice shower I pulled on my panda pj's, climbing in bed I prayed that tomorrow won't turn out that bad.
Switching off the light I passed out almost immediately. It's been a long day and I love my sleep so don't judge.
