I stared up at the bright moon from the edge of the Cliffside, trembling violently, shivering with th cold of leaf-fall rain falling against my pelt.

A shadow rushes in front of me, the small figure tumbling and falling flat on it's face right before my paws. The shadow sits up, appearing to be a cat.

His fur was dark and clung to his thin body, and despite the rain, the scent of Riverclan faintly clung to his fur. It was too dark to see his fur color, but his green eye glimmers brightly, the other covered by cobweb.

I laughed nervously as he sat down next to me, his tail resting on my shoulder, making me shiver. I gave him a light nudge, and he winced.

"Sorry, does it still burn?" I asked softly, and he nodded a bit. "It could be worse." I meowed. "At least your mother didn't catch you, then you really would be on your last life!" I meowed in a good-humored tone.

His head hung low. "Actually, I know what I told you, but...really..." he began but I cut him off. "Actually-" I was interrupted as well from a shrill shriek behind me and we both turned in time to react.

A queen was chasing and pouncing on kits, trying to collect them all into one den, and suddenly there's another shrill cry and a queen stepped out of a den.

In her jaws hung two kits, the other three beneath her paws. Her eyes were watered with tears, and mine did as well as I realized that these kits weren't just submissive and subdued.

They were limp and unmoving, only the two hanging from her jaws wailed and shrieked helplessly.

"Please help, they won't calm down without you. They're probably starving.." the queen softly meowed.

I nodded, glancing back up at the sky. Once again the queens voice sounded.

"Now, WillowFur!"

I suddenly feel myself hit the ground and realize that I'm staring up at the ceiling of the nursery. Now blocking my view was a fluffy white face. "Wake up you lazy furball!"

Windkit's mew was high pitched despite how much bigger than me he was. His milky blue eyes shone brightly as he stared at me with wide sparkling eyes. Though his tone was kind, his words were taunting.

"Ack, get off you fat ball of fur!" I hissed, pawing at his face. He still sat on stop of me, his fur beginning to suffocate me. I squirmed a bit, flailing my paws, my cries muffled.

Despite this I could still hear the giggling of some other kits, then my mother's voice. Soon the weight was lifted from me and I gasped and coughed with my attempts to breath again.

"Windkit, what have I told you about messing with your sister?" Crackedsky hissed sternly, her brown tabby fur rising along her spine.

"Sorry mommy." Windkit apologized, his voice sounding sincere but I knew right away that he was telling lies as white as his fur, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

"If this keeps happening, I'm going to have to tell daddy." Crackedsky threatened. Windkit squeaked and hid beneath her paws as the large tom poked his head into the den.

"Is everything alright in here? I thought I heard willowkit's cry." Meowed Timberclaw, his green eyes bright, a slightly playful look on his face.

"It's just fine, but I'm worried..." Crackedsky meowed, pressing her side to his, purring loudly. "May I speak to you outside?" She added quietly.

Timberclaw nodded and the two of them left the den.

I turned around to face the other kits. I bounded up to windkit. Now it was my turn to tease him.
I tapped my nose to his and he swiped his paw at me but I dodged to the side, and shoved him to the ground.

He cried out in surprise, leaping back onto his paws and his sightless eyes darted around, and he became frustrated, lunging in a random direction, opposite of me, knocking one of the other kits to the floor.

"Watch it, mousebrain!" Swiftkit snapped, shoving windkit off of him. Hearing the kits arguing, one of the other queens woke up. "Calm down, all of you!"

Hearing the queen yelling at us, Crackedsky rushed in again, seeing the angry swiftkit, and windkit wrestling on the floor, and I with my small claws unsheathed and furious expression.

"What's going on here!?" Crackedsky growled, her fur bristling.

I ignored her and jumped at windkit, my claws digging into his Pelt, blind with rage. He flailed around helplessly, swatting at my face as his pelt became badly stained with scarlet red.

I heard screaming and crying surrounding but nothing reached me. The only thing I was focused on was the gasping and choking coming from my brother. Soon his milky blue eyes went dull and he stopped struggling to escape me.

His paws fall to the ground, and he lie still. I then felt sharp teeth pierce my scruff and lift me off of the larger kit. I looked around.

"Crackedsky, keep your kit away from my little ones!" The queen from before hissed, curling tightly around her kits.
Crackedsky had no idea how to deal with the situation and just put me down outside the den.

"Willowkit, do you have any idea what you've done? You've become a selfish foxheart! You've killed your own brother, you-"

"Monster!" Came Timberclaw's voice. I flinched and shut my eyes tightly.

"Monster!"
"Foxheart!"
"Killer!"
"Crazy!"
"Insane!"
"Merciless!"

Then from there, everyone tried to forget what I did, but...

"Useless!"
"Stupid!"
"Fleabrain!"
"Ugly!"
"Idiot!"
"Crazy!"
"Freak!"
"Wierdo!"

"Listen!" Snapped a voice, snapping me to attention. My eyes darted around until I felt claws clip the tip of my ear and I looked up.

"Come on, no one will bother you, I swear." Meowed Crackedsky, her eyes soft, her belly slightly swollen with kits. I smiled at her. I hated it when she told me she was going to have another litter of kits.

I glanced at the medicine cat den and smiled a bit brighter
Morningflower, the beautiful tortoiseshell she-cat smiled back at me. She was more proud of me than anyone else, including...

I looked up at the highrock, where Timberstar watched me with narrowed judging eyes.

"I give up." He growled suddenly. Approaching me was a warrior as my father dismissed the crowd of cats. He had broad shoulders and a badly scarred gray pelt, but soft blue eyes.

"I can tell you were distracted, but My name is Rushingstream, and I'll be your mentor until-" The tom began but-

"WINDCLAN!"
