Not only did my life change when Liam came into it, but my happiness level changed as well. I found myself genuinely smiling when thinking about him. His dark, wavy hair kept me going yesterday as I watched him from across the lunch room. Today, I sit alone but the presence of my happiness made it seem like those seats were full. It was loud, but it appeared soft. A tranquil sound erupted in my mind, captivating me, it was the sound of his voice. I spin around to see his jaw-dropping face with his full lips curved up in a smile. He said, "I noticed you staring at me. May I sit?" Before I could answer he sat down in front of me.
"In case we haven't already met, my name is Liam."
"We have. You asked me where to find a classroom two days ago."
"Oh yeah that's right. Anatoly it was"
I nodded. There was a long silence as one of us tried to scrounge up a conversation topic to sever the dead air.
Finally, he said, "So, why were you staring at me?"
My stomach drops. I was hoping he wouldn't bring this up again. What do I say?
"I don't believe I was. Must have me confused with someone else."
"I don't think I do. I'd remember someone like you staring at me."
What does that mean? Do I pretend like I didn't hear that?
"I'm sorry, what?" I respond.
"You heard me. I basically called you cute."
WHAT? My face turned red and my body started to heat up. I could feel a smile begin to creep on my face, but I force it back with all the force I have. Is he blind? Before I could think of a response he stands up from the table and places a kiss on my cheek. The lunch room goes silent. I could feel the eyes of hundreds of people, piercing my flesh. A scowl appears on my face as I look up at Liam, but my scowl is met with a smile and kind, gentle eyes.
