Chapter One:
Now that the easy part is over. The hard part is winning the team over as head of the club right now. It feels like just yesterday I was making few suggestions here and there, dealing with stripper drama, hiring people. Business wise: making phone calls, accepting clients, doing shit under the table, cancelling subscriptions, handling Demetri's schedule and flash to almost 5 years later, I'm about run this bitch.
"Attention everyone, can you all come together in front of the DJ booth please?" Slowly, the workers moved towards the dance floor, unsure of why there is a meeting so early Usually Demetri starts the night with an inspirational speech, thanking the employees, but I'm also not him so here goes nothing...
"Look I know you've all been busting your hump, trust that your efforts haven't gone unnoticed. Tonight is the Red Wine Event, as of today and for the rest of the year, I am your new manager," Faint gasps sounded through the quiet hall while workers looked at one another having mental conversations.
"If you have any questions concerning anything I'll be up in my new office planning everything to a T. We have approximately 3 hours till we open please, please I need 110% just like every time before. Thank you."
Just as I began to close my office door, I could hear a voice traveling up the stairway. I peered around the corner and as expected it's Lily, the head bartender. She's started to stomp in my direction and she's already bitching when the night hasn't even begun.
"So it's like that? You've gotten promoted to manager?" She said crossing her arms as she unleashes her jealousy.
Just her tone alone made my eyes roll. I then swivelle to face her, we're close in height but she's just got an inch or two under me. Lily is a gorgeous young girl, with a bad attitude. Straight from the bay area, she moved to Phoenix to take up dancing, but Demetri thought she wouldn't make good money because of her little frame.
The girl can dance her ass off, but we don't have an opening for girls her size anymore since we met Bunny:
and since we met her business has excelled and well... We like money.
"What, you think you're too good to let "your" girl know about your little promotion? I thought we were tight, but right now I'm feeling like an outsider." Lily stood about a foot and a half in front of me waving her claws around with her words. I am not about to let her run her mouth to me, not today so I put my hand up clear for her to see. Gesturing with my hand I tell her to close her mouth, she notices and her voice slowly faded.
