Zayn’s POV

I rolled my eyes and walked out of Louis’ room. He is always blabbering on about these so called, borrowers and it bores me. He talks of little people living underneath the floorboards and they ‘borrow’ things from the people living in the house. Sighing, I walk back to my room and head over to the corner I dedicated to my drawings. Let's just say that I favor art and drawing and such sorts. Louis and I moved in here about five months ago wanting to be roommates and get away from the city life since this house is far into the woods. We just really needed a break from the craziness that is the city life. Here is pretty carefree, except for the fact that Louis believes in borrowers. Bending down to grab my paint brushes, that are on the floor by the wall, I frown. Another one is missing and I don’t know why.

I think Louis uses them and just doesn’t put them back, or our beagle, Toby, takes off with them. Instead I just walk over to my bed and plop down, looking out the window that is beside it. It’s quite beautiful actually, with the stream in the distance and a lively yard with wildlife. Lots of flowers litter the yard with all sorts of colors. This view is way better than the city in my point of view. Pulling out my phone, I text louis even though he is only down the hall.

To Louis:

I’m bored. :(

From: Louis

Go get yourself a girlfriend then, ;)

To Louis:

Haha, real funny. Fine, I’ll just go get something to eat.

Dropping the phone on my bed, I head down the stairs. The bread is out and  sitting on the counter. I sigh, Louis always leaves it out, guess I will leave it for him. Looking through the food,  I find nothing in my interest and decide to just go and bother Louis. Knocking on his door, I hear a faint ‘Come in’ and open the door to Louis crouched over his desk and a magnifying glass in his hands.

“Louis, what are you doing?” I ask walking over and peaking over his shoulder. He had what looks like a small green shirt and was examining it.

“Look what I found!” He smiled up at me and held the shirt up.

“A doll’s shirt?” I asked and pulled a seat to sit next to him. Louis gave me a look as if  to say, ‘really?’

“No, it’s a borrower’s shirt.” Louis said, hovering the magnifying glass over it again. Shaking my head, i mutter a ‘not again.’ Not really wanting to be a part of this I get up to leave.

Louis’ POV

Zayn gets up to leave but I stand up to stop him.

“Zayn, seriously this is a borrower’s shirt! I found it outside by the old barn.” I say, trying to convince my old friend that this is a borrower’s shirt. Zayn only shakes his head and walks out the door, I follow him down to the kitchen.

“Zayn, I will get you to believe. Trust me, they are out there!” I said, stomping into the kitchen and plopping down in a chair at the table. Zayn stopped at the doorway and folded his arms together, leaning against it.

“Louis, don’t be serious. Little people are not real and never will be. What next, you believe in fairies? Little people that can fly?” He chuckled and I rolled my blue eyes. He can’t be serious.

“I don’t believe in fairies, but I do borrowers. You want to know where all your paint brushes go? The borrowers take them.” I said, emphasising on borrowers. Zayn scoffed and set himself back up right, running a hand through his messy, black hair.

“Well then those so called, borrowers, better return them.” Zayn chuckled to himself. I know he blames me for the disappearance of them, but I know it’s the borrowers. I shook my hand in the air to tell Zayn to go away and he only chuckled to himself and slithered out the room. I looked down at a paper and searched it, muttering under my breath the words as I read. It was just the newspaper, we don’t have cable so… While I was reading, I swear I heard a small voice say the word ‘Bethany’ But, I just shook it off. I perked my ears up when I heard mumbling and I knew that something was up. Listening closely to the mumbles I discovered that they are coming from underneath the table. Leaning down, I look under the table only to have my eyes widen to the size of a quarter. Three little people were standing there, one with dirty blonde hair, one with long brown hair, and a guy with short blonde hair.

“BORROWERS!” I yelled, and the three looked at me with wide eyes of their own. The dirty blonde haired one pushed the long brown haired one and they took off. I quickly jumped up with a jar that was on the table only to fall on the floor next to the boy and long brown haired girl. Acting quickly, I slammed the jar over them and put the lid on. I went to get the other girl, but she was long gone. Holding the jar up to my face, I examined what I had caught. a small smile appeared and I knew that I had finally caught borrowers.
