20 years later at Hogwarts..

It was dark and stormy night at Hogwarts as Harry sat in his office deep in thought... Harry had never imagined he would be the new headmaster at Hogwarts, but he knew it was his home. The place where he had met his best friend; Ron and Hermione, had their adventures together, the place he defeated the Dark Lord…And the place he learned the most valuable lesson; that love conquers all evil…the only place he had ever belonged in his life.

Harry glanced across the office, a portrait of Dumbledore hung over the fireplace, with the words “The ones that love us, never truly leave us…” printed above it. Harry always thought back to Dumbledore, he never forgot the impact he had on his life.

“I hope I can be as great of a headmaster as you….” Harry said. “You taught me everything I know….” He remembered the days he spent with Dumbledore, all the lessons he had taught him and their quest to find the horcruxes. Days he’d never forget.

Harry always knew that his parents and Dumbledore were watching over him. Harry picked up the picture frame from his desk. The picture of his parent’s he had kept since he was a little boy, the picture Hagrid had given to him as a gift. Harry smiled, “I hope I’ve made you both proud…” he said in a choked whisper, he missed them so much.

Harry flipped the pages of his diary, it came to life, showing Harry his past…He skimmed through the pages of his first year at Hogwarts…Harry saw his 11 year old self at the Hogwarts express, destined to go to Hogwarts. The diary showed the beautiful dining hall, lit with sparkling chandeliers and candles. He saw himself with the Sorting Hat and smiled, he was a true Gryffindor. He remembered being chosen as the seeker for the Quidditch team, his matches and of course, the golden snitch signifying his victory. Harry skipped a few more pages, he saw himself with the Invisibility cloak during his adventures to the forbidden corridor and the Mirror of Erised. He remembered his quest to find the Sorcerer’s Stone and his encounter with Voldemort-who had also been after the stone…Harry skipped to the next chapter of his diary, year 2. Harry saw the Chamber of Secrets, Tom Riddle’s Diary…Harry stabbed the diary with the basilisk fang to get rid of Voldemort. After skipping a few more pages, Harry saw himself at his third year at Hogwarts. Flashbacks of Sirius and Buckbeak made him smile as he remembered saving his godfather and proving him innocent, then he remembered his death... The Goblet of Fire Triwizard Tournament was one of his biggest adventures of all…Later, creating Dumbledore’s Army to fight against the death eaters, Hogwarts had become completely chaotic. Some memories were traumatic, such as seeing Dumbledore unable to save himself as Severus Snape killed him that night…Harry blinked back tears as he skipped to the next chapter. He remembered his last year at Hogwarts as a blur of chaotic memories, ending in his defeat of the Dark Lord.

Harry closed his diary and his filled with tears as he thought of the past…The years had gone by and only memories remained.  But he smiled as he thought of the present. He picked up a photo from his wedding…a smiling picture of Ron and Hermione, next to Ginny and Harry…He smiled, his best friends were still there for him as well as their children. Ron and Hermione’s sons Fred and George…and Harry and Ginny’s kids; James and Lily…Coincidentally they reminded him a lot of his best friends; Ron, Hermione and himself back when they went to Hogwarts…

Harry was happier now as headmaster of Hogwarts than ever before. His office at the Gryffindor Tower was filled with treasured memories. On his windowsill, he still kept the golden snitch. On his desk, he still had the Marauder’s Map…and his Invisibility Cloak was hung over the edge of his seat. But most importantly, his wand…After saying he’d had enough trouble for a lifetime, his friends convinced him to keep his wand for defense against the dark arts. Harry no longer shared a connection with Voldemort’s wand…and his scar hadn’t hurt in 20 years…Evil had been conquered and Hogwarts was at peace.

100 years later

“Welcome to another year of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry…In remembrance of the great Professor Harry Potter… A true hero of Hogwarts, he defeated the Dark Lord; sacrificed his own life to save Hogwarts…A true Gryffindor, brave heart and soul. He will never be forgotten…Harry Potter, the boy who lived…” The new headmaster said and the crowd applauded.

Although it’s 100 years later and Harry Potter had passed away, his legacy remained at Hogwarts.…Harry Potter was a legend at Hogwarts, he knew he would forever be known as a hero who defeated the Dark Lord…Harry potter, the boy who lived…
