"Happy birthday! Blow the candles out!" your mom said happily as she held her phone up to take a picture of you.

You blew out the candles and...

Snap!

"Oh my gosh... I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast!" tears began to build up in your mom's eyes.

She walked over to you and gave you a hug. The hug was tight but gave you a warm feeling. You looked over at Kuro who smiled at you. You gestured for him to come over, and he obediently did so. Your mom then engulfed him into the hug as well.

Kuro was part of the family, and it was great.

...

"Where are you taking me?" You asked, blinded with a blindfold. You held tightly onto Kuro's hand and made sure to follow after his steps, "I'm not allowed to be out in the woods, you know. My mom will kill me."

"Then your mom doesn't have to know." Kuro said nonchalantly, causing you to roll your eyes under the blindfold.

"If we get caught, I'm blaming it on you." you replied, a little vexed.

Kuro chuckled, "Alright, that's fine."

After a couple of minutes, you heard the sound of rushing water. You were getting closer to it and it was getting louder and louder.

Kuro suddenly stopped and you bumped into him, "Oops. Sorry." you apologized.

Kuro didn't say anything back. He let go of your hand and stood behind you, untying the knotted blindfold.

He took it off and immediately you were blinded by bright light. Your eyes quickly adjusted and you gasped at the view.

There was a waterfall, not so big but big enough, and pink blossom trees were beginning to bloom along with flowers making the whole scenery a whole lot more beautiful.

"Wow..." you breathed out, "How did you find this place?" you turned around and Kuro wasn't there. You furrowed your brows and looked around, "Kuro?" you called out but received no answer.

"You idiot, you can't just leave me here! I don't know the way back home!" you yelled, angrily.

"Boo!"

Arms clasped on your shoulders, spinning you around. You screeched and managed a punch on the person's chest.

"Oof!" Kuro let out a grunt and rubbed where you punched him, "That hurts..."

"That's what you get, idiot! You shouldn't have done that! It wasn't even funny! " you exclaimed, "Kill yourself!"

"E-eh? Kill... myself?" Kuro frowned, "That's a little mean, don't you think? I've never heard you use that phrase before. Where did you pick it up from?"

You pouted and crossed your arms, "...from school and the internet..."

"Don't use that phrase," Kuro said sternly. He then took your hand, "It's not nice and could really affect someone."

You pouted, "Fine..."

Kuro smiled, "Good," Kuro walked closer to the river and sat down. He turned and you followed him and sat down, "Your mom has been bugging you about taking online classes, hasn't she?"

"Yeah. She has. And I really don't want to do it," you frowned.

Kuro raised a brow, curious, "Why not?"

"Well, I won't be able to see my friends much and I wouldn't have contact with other human beings, and that can really mess a person up." You explained, crossing your arms.

"But you have your mother. And me," Kuro pointed to himself, smiling.

You giggled, "Yeah, but, I want to see other people too."

That made Kuro frowned, "You don't need to see other people. You don't need to see anyone else besides me," after a short second he added, "And your mother."

You rolled your eyes, "I know you don't like me hanging out with other people, and I don't know why that is, but I'm old enough to make my decisions and decide on who I want to see."

Kuro stayed silent and let you continue talking.

"You've always been like this. You never approved of any of my friends and every time I had a chance to start a relationship with a guy, you get all mad and guilt trip me. I don't even know why I let you do that." Remembering all of this made you angry, and so you continued ranting out your anger.

"Like, I know we've been together for, I don't know, our whole life and you're like a brother to me but-"

Kuro cut you off, "Wait. What?" He said in a sharp voice.

"I said 'I know we've"-" again, he cut you off.

"No. That last part." He said, his brows furrowed.

"I said that you're like a brother to me." You repeated yourself, annoyed now.

Kuro looked away, his lips in a thin firm line. The air around you was tense and you didn't know how to break it.

Kuro sighed, "Let's get back home." He stood up and you did the same.

"Are you mad? Did I say something wrong?" You asked, actually a little worried because it was very rare that Kuro got mad.

The black haired boy only shook his head in response. He took your hand, "Let's go. It's getting dark and it'll be hard to see, especially since we're walking through the woods, so stay close to me."

You nodded, "Alright. Lead the way."

It still bothered you that Kuro got mad at you. He never gets mad at you, so it was a little strange. But you decided not to think too much about it. You'll ask him about it later.
