"So there's a new guy at school!" my sister Beth said as she walked in the house swinging her half-price used Coach bag onto the couch. I skipped today because I didn't want to take a dumb test. "He's from Australia..although he looks kinda Asian," she snooted, "but he's super hot. And he won't give any girl a second look. Not even me!"
"Are you offended by that!? Sorry you're not on the top of EVERYONE'S list, your majesty!" I yelled as i walked into my room and slammed my door. I walked across the room and looked into the mirror. "If he doesn't like Beth there is no way in hell the hot Australian will even talk to you" I thought.
My mother named Beth and I after classic Hollywood actresses. Beth was named after Elizabeth Taylor. Beth is gorgeous and she knows it, she flaunts it. She looks like Audrey Hepburn to me; fair skin, light brown hair and brown eyes. Beautiful. I was named after Lucille Ball. I'm the odd one out in the family. Dark brown hair, almost black really, but crystal blue eyes. According to all of my family above the age 45 I should have been named after Elizabeth Taylor becase I'm "a spitting image."
I walked down the hall later that night to get food. Beth had her door open so I heard her on the phone talking to her best friend Victoria, or "Icky Vicky" as I liked to call her. "I just don't get why that new guy is ignoring us. I mean we're the most popular and pretty girls in the school" she said as she examined herself in the mirror while striking several model-esque poses. I laughed and kept walking. Victoria's family is filthy rich. Her Daddy is a lawyer and her mother's family hasn't worked for generations. Makes me sick, but Beth loves her. We can't afford all the fancy clothing and cars like Victoria's family so Beth does a lot of shopping on Ebay.
I grabbed some food and went back to my room. I watched Netflix and doodled for a while then went to bed. I don't have a test tomorrow so I might as well go to school and check out if this new kid is really worth all the commotion my sister was giving him.
