Chapter 1: Revenge
Staring at his brother's face for the first time in 14 years, Sasuke felt his suppressed hatred consume him. It was Itachi, his older brother, even though he was no longer thought of as that. He was known to Sasuke now only as a cold murderer who betrayed the entire Uchiha Clan, killing everyone except his younger brother just to "test his skills". Father. Mother. The memory haunted Sasuke for years now, a reoccurring nightmare that had him waking up every night trembling, covered in cold sweat, gasping for air. He had lost everything that night. Now he stood, eyes full of the hate he bore ever since. He clenched his fists, and felt his heartbeat quicken. He waited, with an intense desire to kill, to fulfill his dream and avenge his clan.
"Sasuke, you've become stronger," Itachi noticed with more interest now.
"Itachi, today's the day you die. By my hand."
Itachi chuckled cynically. " You really believe you can kill me in your current state? You don't even have the same eyes."
"I may not have the mangekyo, but it makes no difference. You told me that day in Konoha, that my hatred was not enough. But now, pure hatred will help me defeat you ," Sasuke declared viciously.
"That's what you say. But can you really back up your words?"
"Let's see," Sasuke hissed, and vanished, only to reappear right behind his brother with a long sword pointed in his direction.
Forcefully, Sasuke moves his arm back and stabs his sword into Itachi's back slowly. Blood gushes out and Itachi gasps, his breaths shortening. With a vicious smirk, Sasuke asks his brother,
"Now before you die, tell me one thing. Who remains that has the mangekyo sharingan?"
"Why is it you want to know?" Itachi replied weakly.
"Because right after I'm done with you, I'm going to go and kill them."
Just after, Itachi's body dissolved into many black crows.
It was a clone.
The long battle between the brothers raged on, until neither one of them had any more chakra left.
In the end, Itachi collapsed, leaving Sasuke utterly confused at his last words.
"Forgive me, Sasuke."
