Yeah, this chapter is really bad and depressing, but stay with me! Read Chapter 2!
•••
The rain fell loudly outside, the dark clouds covering every inch of the sky.
Madelyn, a tall, blonde 19 year old let out a sob on her bedroom floor as a man was shot with two arrows on her television screen. The light from it made her face visible in the darkness of her room.
Suddenly, her phone rang. She reached for her phone from under the green blanket that covered her body. She grabbed it and held it up to her ear, while pausing her television.
"Hello?"
"Hey, girl!"
"Oh, Hey Kandyce."
There was a slight moment of silence between the two. Madelyn sniffed.
"Are you crying?"
"Ugh.. Yeah," Madelyn muttered, "I'm sorry I was just watching The Lord of The Rings and B-"
"Yeah, yeah. That weird ginger guy got shot by the ugly goblin things."
"They are called orcs!" She snapped.
"Eh. I was close."
"Sort of, I guess."
Madelyn shifted her body and removed the blanket from her back. She rested on the soft yet slightly itchy carpet that covered the floor of her room.
"Well, I've gotta go." Kandyce ended the short silence.
"Then what in hell did you call me for?!"
"I don't know. I was bored!"
"You could have called someone else! I was busy!!"
"Sure..."
"Whatever. Bye."
"Love ya like a sister, girlie."
Madelyn ended the call and threw the phone onto her soft bed.
Madelyn and Kandyce had been best friends almost since birth. When they were young, their mothers were very close friends, so they saw eachother frequently, and as they grew older they grew closer and closer.
Madelyn unpaused the movie and continued to over-dramatically cry.
"God, Tolkien is a genius.." She thought to herself as the man was shot by the third and final arrow, which sent him to his death. Madelyn let out a violent sob, and her eyes slowly became heavy. After a few minutes, her eyes completely closed as she drifted into darkness.
~
'Aragorn!' She screamed, "Aragorn, no!!"
The man named Aragorn was aiming an arrow at a small boy with dark, curly hair and light green eyes.
'He has it. He has it!' The angered man muttered.
'Has what?! Aragorn, please!'
The mans dark hair blew in the wind and he turned to her. His eyes completely darkened.
He aimed the same arrow at her heart and let go of the end of the bow.
'Im sorry.' He whispered.
~
Madelyn woke up with a gasp. 'Holy hell.' She thought, her mouth unable to move from its position.
"M- Madelyn!" She heard a voice come from downstairs. She pushed the sheets from her and walked downstairs.
The voice was her father's, who was standing in the middle of the dining room.
"Madelyn, I have news."
She stopped a few feet away from her father, unable to see the tears that streamed down his rough cheeks.
"What is it, Dad?"
He took a large breath, "You know how your mother had lung cancer?"
"Um, yes. Is Mom alright?!"
"N- No, sweetie. Your-" he stopped for a moment, inhaled, and continued "Your mother died tonight."
All of the blood drained from her face and she became pale. Tears forming in her eyes quickly.
"W- W- What?" Her voice was weak and crackly.
"I'm sorry."
"N- No.." She mumbled.
"She was my life," Her father looked down, and sounded as if he was speaking to himself as he continued, "She was my life, my love, my whole world, and now she's gone." Large tears frequently streamed down his face, leaving gleaming tracks behind them.
"My life is gone." He mumbled as he pulled a gun from his pocket.
Madelyn noticed what the object was, and panicked.
"Dad, Dad..." She said as loud as she could, which wasn't very loud, "We can move on, start again!" Her knees buckled under her. "Father, p- please."
He lifted the gun near his head.
'I love you.' He mouthed.
"DAD!" Madelyn screamed, running to him. "NO!"
"Goodbye." He whispered, and with one fluent movement, he raised the gun to his left temple and pulled the trigger.
'BANG!'
Madelyn fell to her knees as the body fell to the ground. Blood slowly poured out of the bullet hole in his head. The blood streamed down the back of his head and to the floor. Madelyn was speechless and her body was out of her control. She stared at the pale body for minutes until she raised her hands to her head, pulled her hair, and screamed, rocking back and forth on her weak knees.
