I'm an obstacle to the main characters goal. I stand in the way causing their victory to mean something.
I'm a "plot twist," "something unexpected," yet I'm needed in every story to have a plot line.
You pay attention to me for a short while, no you don't pay attention to me. You pay attention to how I'm over come, how I'm left in the dust. Just a memory.
I don't mind. I know my role. I'm not the main character.
I don't have wants. I don't have needs. I just exist for the plot to move forward.
Some journeys around other obstacles may be more memorable, but never is the obstacle remembered.
Though now I'm making myself a main character. That isn't my goal.
I'm an obstacle, that is all.
Everyone thinks they are the main character of their "story" or life. Never does anyone think, I'm an obstacle for someone else's large goals.
Don't be sad that you are an obstacle, obstacles are needed to make the story good.
But how do you write a story unlike any other? No great accomplishment or failure, no main character, and no obstacles.
You probably could, but who would read it?
Everyone is so generic and are all looking for the same story.
Never has there been a different story, something that strays away from the, main character(s) desire, a journey with some obstacle, the desire is then met or destroyed.
No one can write a story like that, because they have never experienced anything differently. You get out of bed in the morning to accomplish something, something will distract you and stand in your way, you will it won't accomplish this goal at the end of the day.
No one is just suddenly placed in a story for plot development, that's why no one relates to the obstacle.
No one wakes up with no goal because it's already been handed to you. Your goal could be something as small as leaving your room.
There needs to be a story unlike any other, a story without a main character.
A story that doesn't revolve around a journey.
A story with a different plot line, no goal.
A story that's different, but still interesting.
But what would I know?
I'm just an obstacle.
