As he got to me, I gave him a hug as he did me.

"Logan, I thought you were sleeping," Lucas said.

"I couldn't just ignore the crying of my big sister," Logan argued. Lucas accepted his reasoning.

"What are you doing here?" I asked Logan, curious. "And how could you hear me from all the way over there?"

"Oh yeah. You don't know that Logan is also a mutant, I forgot," Lucas reminded himself aloud.

"What?" I said, surprised. "How did he get here with you though?"

"It's a long story," Lucas said leading us to his hidden home. It's so generous of him to let us into this island where we can be safe and sound, which is one of the traits I love about him. I'll try not to love again because I don't want to have another broken heart if he goes... I can't go through another friends death if they find us... I just... can't...

By the time I'm done thinking about it, we're at the entrance of his home.

"This is the place where I live with Lucas," Logan explained to the group and I as we all looked around the big living room space and kitchen connected to each other with a hallway.

"How long have you been staying here for, Logan?" I asked.

"While I was still packing all of my stuff to come here, I heard you were caught, so I decided to visit your house," Lucas started. "Logan took me to your room and we talked a little bit until he showed me his powers. I knew I had to take him with me, so I asked your mom that night if I could take him to dinner with me. She hesitantly and thankfully said yes, and instead of taking him to dinner, I took him to this island and he's been with me ever since. I would've gotten lonely if I didn't take him, so I'm glad I got the idea," Lucas explained.

"And it's better than being tortured by Mom, so," Logan added.

"That is so true! So Logan was 10 years old and it's been 2 years?"

"Surprisingly, yes. It seemed so much longer than 2 years without everyone here," Lucas replied, looking at the group. "Courtnee, can I ask you a question that I've wanted to ask until you've got here?"

I looked at him thinking about the question he asked me and said, "Sure."

"What happened to your hand?" he asked dramatically.

"I'll tell you tonight," I said, getting caught in his eyes. I drug myself away from his and looked down at the floor. I quickly changed the subject, "Is this all you have to show us?" I asked politely.

"No, there are 2 more rooms to show you," Lucas said proceeding down the hallway between the kitchen and living room. In the middle of the hall on the left was a door. "This is the bathroom. In here, there are 4 stalls, 4 showers, 2 sinks, and a closet," he explained as he toured us around the bathroom. He exited the bathroom and the rest of us followed. At the end of the hallway, there was another room that went to the edge of the rock in which the house was built. We all gasped at the size and modernity. There was everything from a popcorn machine and beanbags, to very long couches and beds that actually looked comfortable with soft blankets and fluffy pillows. It's like how he knew we needed a break from the situation we were in and that he knew that we never had what he provided for us. Thankfully the Masked Society's HQ has crumbled and will never come back again. The only thing I don't like about being on the island, is that I don't know what's going on in the outside world. That's the only downfall. I'm also very thankful for Lucas and all that he's done for my friends and I and the work he has put into making this our home. I walked to Lucas, who was in the back of the group, and gave him a hug.

"Thank you so much for giving us a home, Lucas," I whispered.

"Anything for my friends," he said with a smile as he hugged me back. "It's so good to see you again. After all these years, you're finally back with everyone... well, almost. I did you're best and that's all that matters."

"I did try my best to bring everyone back but I just couldn't," I said trying not to think about it.

"I'm just glad you're alright, Courtnee," he said stroking the back of my head. I snuffled my nose and wiped my eyes before any tears could escape from them and let go of Lucas.

"It's all yours now. You all are free to this place. Just remember that there are chores every other day," he said with a smile.

"Yay!" Everyone shouted.

"I call this bed!" Brian called out. After Brian called his, everyone else started to call out the bed they wanted.

"Aren't you gonna call your bed, Courtnee?" Lucas asked.

"I call the bed closest to Lucas' bed!" I shouted to the group.

"I was hoping you'd say that," he whispered to me. I was kind of surprised that he said that.

"Why?"

"We have a lot to talk about tonight," he replied, walking back down the hall to the front door. I was curious as to what he was thinking so I followed him outside. After I had closed the door behind me, it turned into perfect camouflage with the rock it was built in. Lucas was sitting on top of a tall rock, not quite as tall as the one the house was built in, with his legs crossed and his eyes closed, feeling the slight breeze from the ocean on his face.

"I'm sorry for interrupting... Lucas!" I tried to get his attention. I tried to find a way to climb the rock and did on the opposite side. I made it up to the top and slowly approached him, trying not to disturb him. I gently set my hand on his shoulder. He suddenly stood up and took a dagger out of his pocket and held it to my neck. I immediately reacted to the situation and I slipped the knife out of his hand and held his arm behind his back, on the verge of breaking it and held the blade to his neck.

"Okay, okay," he grunted. I let him go and he started to rub his shoulder. He swung it back and forth trying to get the pain to go away. I flipped the dagger in the air and caught the blade of it, making it easier to hand it to Lucas.

"You haven't lost your ability to defend yourself, I see," Lucas said to me quietly, sitting down in the position he was earlier.

"Why? Because I only have half my fingers on one hand?" I asked.

"Yeah," Lucas replied, looking up at me.

"Why would I lose my powers?"

"I just thought it might affect you a little bit," he suggested.

"Well, I guess but I've learned how to do things with my left hand. Training with Adam has payed off," I explained as he looked at me. I found myself getting lost in his eyes but I didn't want to look away. I snapped out of it, and looked away at the rock I was standing on. I slowly sat down next to him, making sure he wasn't going to test me again.

"Courtnee?" he started to ask. "What happened?"

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"Well, I'm sure you went through a lot at where you were staying for the past 2 years."

"Oh, yeah..." I tried to think of where to start. "Ummm... I can't think of where it began... Can I tell you tonight?" I said looking at the sunset.

"Yeah, tonight's fine," he said looking at me. I saw him out of the corner of my eye starring at me in the orange light from the sun half way behind the ocean. "Do you want to go inside and get washed up for supper?"

"Yeah let me get something off of the boat really quick."

"Sounds good!" he said. We got off the rock and I walked toward the boat past the rock. I got on the boat and looked around for what I needed to get. I saw it out of the corner of my eye- my backpack. I grabbed it and threw it over my shoulder. I got off the boat and walked to the house, opening the door to an aroma of cooked fish with lemon pepper and coconut milk. Everyone was helping Lucas and Logan prepare the meal.
