"I didn't lie at the bakery, did I?"

We just stared at each other awkwardly for a few minutes. Then Karma spoke up.

"Oh, hey," Karma looked behind my shoulder. "That must be the notorious Koro-Sensei! Wow, he really does look like an octopus."

I flinched. Normally, Karma wouldn't sound so cheerful. Something's up.

"Ah, Mr. Akabane, am I correct?" Koro-Sensei exclaimed. "I understand that your suspension ends today. Welcome back. That said, tardiness is a no-no." Our teacher's face turned purple with an "x" across it.

Karma chuckled. "It's tricky getting back into the swing of things. Oh, feel free to call me by my first name." He held up a hand.

I immediately knew what was going to happen: the old April-Fool's hand buzzer trick.

"Anyway, I've heard some good things, teach," Karma said. "Nice to meet you."

"The pleasure's all mine. Should be a fun and educational year," Koro-Sensei said politely and held up a tentacle to shake the sadist's hand. A part of me wanted to scream DON'T DO IT!!!! Another part of me wanted to see what happens next.

Karma took his tentacle and squeezed. The tentacle suddenly exploded. Karma took advantage of our teacher's state of shock and tried to stab him with an anti-sensei knife hidden in his jacket sleeve. Koro-Sensei dodged at the last millisecond.

I stared at Karma in surprise and wonder. What a sadist...

"Huh, you are fast, aren't ya?" Karma laughed and looked down on his hand, which was covered with pieces of an anti-sensei knife. "And who to thought these knives would actually work? I just cut one up into strips and tacked them on!"

Everyone stared at the new student in shock. Karma is the first one to actually hurt Koro-Sensei.

"Pretty elementary stuff, chief," Karma continued. "I'm disappointed that's all it took to take you by surprise." He walked towards Koro-Sensei. "What are you? Scared of me? I heard that they call you 'Koro-Sensei' because you're supposed to be unkillable."

Keyword: supposed. Koro-Sensei backed up instinctively.

"Oh, come on," Karma provoked him. "No way you can be this big of a pushover."

Koro-Sensei's face turned red as multiple tick marks appeared on his face.

"Hey, (y/n)? What kind of person is this Karma guy?" Kayano leaned forward to ask me.

"Uh, the class sadist?" I shrugged, still keeping my eyes on the scene. "We went to the same elementary school, and he isn't exactly the friendliest guy you will ever meet. I think Nagisa was in the same class in his first and second year here, am I right?" I looked over to Nagisa, and he nodded.

"He was violent, so violent that they finally expelled him and shipped him here," Nagisa recalled. "E class is where they send you when they don't know what else to do with you."

"Despite that, he might become the star student in this class," I said.

"Eh? What do you mean?" Kayano asked, scratching her head.

Nagisa stared at Karma as he wielded his knife skillfully before answering. "Weapons and blood are his passion. Trust me: if anyone could kill our teacher, then it's Karma."

I stayed silent as I watch Koro-Sensei try to calm himself down. Can he really?
