If it's not fine, it's not the end

Part 1

When Spencer Hastings answered the call she already knew there would be bad News. Her friend Emily, Rosewood's best doctor, has never sounded that worried. "Spencer, I... am so sorry." "What... what is it?", Spencer asked "You are frightening me!" "It's about Marco. He ... is dead. It was a car accident. Spence I am so..."

Spencer's phone crashed down onthe floor. She could barely breathe and she was kinda paralyzed fromshock. Marco Furey has been her boyfriend. HAS BEEN, she couldn'teven think of that. She loved Marco so so much. After she broke upwith Toby, and to be honest, this was even worse than Marco's death,she felt happy when she was with Marco. After such a long time ofcrying and pain, because of how things went with Toby , she reallyfelt happy again with him. But this wasn't the only reason whySpencer mentally practically died. There was something else.Something she hadn't told anyone, not even Marco or her parents. Ifher parents knew... gosh they would haunt her for the rest of herlife!

„Hey, babe. Did our plan work? Is hequiet forever now?" „Yes, everything went well. Nobody saw me."The the first voice sounded content. „Good work, darling. Now makesure that the car will get demolished!" „Of course hun, I'm notan amateur!"  the second Person was clearly a bit annoyed by the first one. "Well I love you." "Love you too."

After the phone call of those two People, Toby Cavanaugh, Police officer, arrived, at work, but something was different. Everyone seemed to be excited and when he saw his Ex-girlfriend Spencer Hastings, a lawyer, he was a bit shocked. It was pretty early in the morning but she already looked more exhausted than ever before and she had clearly cried. Now he was really worried. He made his way to Spencer and lied his Hands on her shoulders. She winced and turned around. "Toby!" She sobbed a Little and before he could think about what he was doing he hugged her. "Oh my god", he thought. This felt so familiar and it felt like something he had missed for such a Long time. Something he didn't know was that Spencer - calming down in his arms more and more - felt exactly the same, she was kinda shocked by that, because unlike Toby she could describe this feeling. It was the feeling she hadn't  had since they broke up. The Feeling that her heart was completed. She always thought that Marco had given her this Feeling, but now she knew that nobody except Toby could give this to her. The Feeling of being complete, of being at home after a Long journey. After she told Toby  what happened and leaving him alone with his Partner Lorenzo, she headed back to her Office, sat down on the chair  and shook her head in disbelieve. She was a very smart woman so she knew what the Feelings inside of her wanted to tell her, but she still didn't want to and she couldn't believe it. But her head and heart spoke the same language, they said the same words: "You are still in love with Tobias Cavanaugh." This was the Moment when she ran to the bathroom and threw up twice.

Toby couldn't Focus on his work. This day was too awkard for him. First he was told that his boss, detective Marco Furey, Spencer's boyfriend died in a car accident and then his mind got crazy when he was with Spencer Hastings, his EX-girlfriend. "You are engaged! You love Yvonne, only Yvonne!" his head said. But his mind answered: "You love Yvonne, of Course you do. But it is the wrong Kind of love! You always fell for Spencer, you always will and you know that!" "Toby?" when he suddenly heard Lorenzo's voice he accidentally almost fell off his chair. "Are you dreaming about your and Yvonne's romantic honeymoon?" he asked grinning and started laughing because of his own joke. But Toby couldn't even smile about this bad joke. "What do you want?", he asked impatiently. "Well, our colleagues who investigated the place where the accident took place, think it was no accident." "What?" Toby asked, not sure if he heard right. Of Course he secretly hated Marco for being with his Spencer, but he couldn't believe that anyone really hated him. He's been a pretty nice guy tho. "Yes.", Lorenzo confirmed. "First of all, the Driver ignored Marco's right of way. He didn't even stop after the accident, but kept driving, so it was a hit and run accident. And we also found acceleration lanes not far away from there. Soo ..." Lorenzo looked at Toby full of expectation. "It is very likely that Marco was murdered", Toby completed his sentence and sighed. "And who would do that?" "Well", Lorenzo answered. Do you know anyone who really hated him?" Toby winced but composed himself fastly. "No, but maybe Spencer does. I will talk to her later." "Okay", Lorenzo shrugged. "Then I will visit our collegues in the pathelogy and ask them if they found anything." Toby shrugged as well and simply nodded.

Five minutes later he stood in front of Spencer's office's  door. He took a deep breath before knocking at the door. When nobody answered, he knocked again, but there was still no answer, so he entered her Office... and he would have almost ran out again! The whole Office was a complete mess, nothing was on ist original place. When he walked further into the room he bent down to pick up a broken photo Frame. When he saw the Photo in it, he felt tears coming up. It was the photo he gave her on their 1 year anniversary. He knew something wasn't okay and his worries about Spencer grew and grew.
