Sliding my bedroom window open, I listened for any movement throughout the house.
Satisfied that I hadn't woken anyone up, I slung my legs over the edge and jumped.
Smirking to myself, it was times like these I was glad I wasn't human.
Crouched down, I quickly headed towards the woods surrounding my house, glancing back
every now and then. I had to get out of there, I had to run. Running wasn't just fun; it was
a need. The need to feel your muscles coil and stretch, to feel the wind skim across
your fur. once inside the covering of the woods, I began to concentrate. Taking deep
breaths in and letting them slowly out, I tried to even my breathing.
A smile began to spread across my face as I felt my muscles stretch and my bones morph.
Forcing the change quickly can be quite painful, but allowing it to gradually come
actually feels exuberating. It's like being cramped in a soda can all day, it just
doesn't feel right.
All my life, i've been taught what will happen and how to handle
the change, so when I was about to turn 16 last year, I was ecstatic.
Females begin the change when they're 16 or 17. Males on the other hand, Begin
whenever they hit puberty; some procreation mumbo-jumbo i couldn't care less about.
standing up on all fours, I surveyed my surroudnings for danger.
Sensing I was alone, I dug my paws into the familiar soil and pushed off.
Ducking limbs and doging anything that was in my way, I pushed my self harder;
willing my body to move faster. Before I knew it, the sun was rising.
Stopping mid-step, I cursed myself for not keeping track of time.
My parents would be up any minute and i'm not supposed to run alone, especially at night.
Heading back towards home, I pushed my body to its limits.
My poor legs wanted to stop for just one second but I couldn't.
focusing on the trees in-front of me, I lowered my head in an attempt to gain speed.
By the time it was too late, I noticed a tall, well built man step out from behind a
tree infront of me. Sticking his arm out, he snatched me up by the throat.
The last thing I remember was looking into his eerily beautiful pitch black eyes.
